  • Patent number: 6945323
Abstract: An automotive air conditioning system includes: an air conditioning duct having an outlet; an evaporator; a heater core; an air mix door that divides air passing through the air conditioning duct into to pass through the heater core and to bypass the heater core; an outlet air temperature sensor; a control unit; a primary bypass passageway defined by the air mix door; a secondary bypass passageway different from the primary bypass passageway; and a cold air controlling door that controls an air flow rate in the secondary bypass passageway. The control unit sets an opening for the air mix door to obtain air conditioned to the target outlet air temperature when the cold air controlling door is opened to an initial opening and controls the opening to cause a temperature detected by the outlet air temperature sensor to approach a target outlet air temperature.

  • Publication number: 20030226658
Abstract: A mode switching control device of a vehicle air-conditioning apparatus capable of selecting vent mode delivery, whereby air is delivered to an upper part of the inside of a passenger compartment; foot mode delivery, whereby air is delivered to a lower part of the passenger compartment; and bi-level mode delivery, whereby the vent mode delivery and the foot mode delivery are implemented together. Even when on the basis of a target outlet temperature foot mode delivery has been selected, when the occupant insolation level is above a predetermined level the control device switches to the bi-level mode to provide the occupant with a comfortable air-conditioning feeling even when the vehicle is running.

  • Patent number: 6622928
Abstract: In a control system for an automotive air conditioner, a solar insolation correction coefficient includes two types of values one of which is a value (11L, 11R) expressed by a directly body-transmitted solar insolation component which is a solar insolation directly received by the body of a driver and/or a passenger, whereas the other is a value (12) expressed by a vehicle applied solar insolation component which is a solar insolation received by a vehicle to thereby increase the in-vehicle temperature. Accordingly, the target temperature for conditioned air discharged from the outlets can be set in such a manner as to correspond to the solar insolation which the driver actually receives.

  • Patent number: 5901943
Abstract: Opposite ends of a first film-like damper with a plurality of air vents defined therein at a given position are wound respectively on first and second takeup shafts, and a drive wire is coupled to the first and second takeup shafts. A wire has an end directly coupled to the drive wire at substantially intermediate position between the first and second takeup shafts. The other end of the wire is connected to a manually operable knob. When the knob is manually turned, the wire directly displaces the drive wire in the direction indicated by the arrow A or B, moving the film-like damper.

  • Patent number: 5150944
Abstract: A joint structure includes a sandwiched structural body comprising a core layer having opposite surfaces and a pair of first and second outer skin layers covering the opposite surfaces, respectively, and a substantially concave joint region defined in the first outer skin layer and comprising a side wall and a bottom wall contiguous to the side wall, the bottom wall being joined to the second outer skin layer. The side wall of the joint region is of a tapered shape. The sandwiched structural body is formed primarily of synthetic resins, and may additionally include reinforcing fibers.
