  • Patent number: 4813852
Abstract: A compressor comprising a cylinder block having a plurality of compression chambers and a housing having a discharge chamber and an outlet port. The housing is mounted on the cylinder block through a valve plate having discharge ports for discharging fluid from the compression chambers into the discharge chamber. At least one bulkhead wall is provided in the housing, extending from a position near at least one of the discharge ports toward the outlet port for separating the at least one discharge port and an adjacent discharge port.

  • Patent number: 4650202
Abstract: A power transmission for a four-wheel drive vehicle includes a change-speed gearing mounted within a transmission casing, and an intermediate differential unit assembled within the transmission casing and drivingly connected to an output shaft of the change-speed gearing to be applied with a driving torque through the change-speed gearing for transmitting the driving torque to a first drive shaft for front-wheel drive and to a second drive shaft for rear-wheel drive. The differential unit comprises an input member drivingly connected to the output shaft of the change-speed gearing, a plurality of planetary gear sets coaxially arranged within the transmission casing and drivingly connected to the input member, the planetary gear sets being designed to provide a plurality of drive power trains at a different gear ratio, and a shift mechanism arranged to selectively connect one of the planetary gear sets to the first and second drive shafts.

  • Patent number: 4567728
Abstract: A mounting structure for a clutch booster assembly to be arranged adjacent to and in front of a vacuum brake booster assembly fixed to a forward fire-wall structure of a vehicle body. A bracket member of a U-shaped cross-section fixed to the fire-wall structure opens toward one side of the brake booster assembly and supports the clutch booster assembly on its front end. A flexible tubular cover member has a front end secured to the front end of the bracket member to hermetically enclose a rear air suction opening of the clutch booster assembly and a rear end coupled within an opening of the fire-wall structure, and a flexible tubular sealing boot has a front end secured to the rear end of the cover member and a rear end secured to an operation rod of the clutch booster assembly. The sealing boot is provided with an annular lip in engagement with the front face of the fire-wall structure and at its rear end with a vent hole.

  • Patent number: 4013153
Abstract: A clutch hub comprising a pair of annular cylindrical elements joined together at their respective end walls, each element being made by press forming from a metal sheet blank and having splines on the outer and inner peripheral faces. The clutch hub of the above construction is effective in preventing accidental gear self-disengagement in a transmission and can be fabricated at a reduced cost.

  • Patent number: 3964321
Abstract: There is disclosed a fixing device for a speed meter driven gear which comprises a sleeve attached to a transmission casing or an extension housing thereof in an automobile, a rotary shaft rotatably disposed within the sleeve, and a speed meter driven gear fixedly mounted on part of the rotary shaft in a manner to be maintained in meshing relation to a speed meter drive gear of an output shaft. A resilient clip is secured to the aforesaid rotary shaft and sleeve, so as to restrain the axial directional movement of the rotary shaft within the sleeve.A slit is provided in the aforesaid sleeve, and an annular groove is provided in the aforesaid rotary shaft in a manner to correspond with the slit, so that a locking portion of the aforesaid resilient clip may be locked in the slit and annular groove, and a retaining portion thereof is resiliently retained by the aforesaid sleeve.

  • Patent number: 3939724
Abstract: A shift control mechanism is provided for a multiple-forward-speed manual transmission which controls operation of the shift lever between the reverse drive position and one forward drive position to prevent inadvertent shifting which might damage the transmission. A transmission lever whose movement is controlled through the shift lever is formed with a projection extending therefrom which is adapted to engage a movable pin mounted in a housing. The housing is axially movable along a guide shaft and the pin is movable between an extended and a retracted position relative to the housing. The erroneous shifting operation between the reverse drive position and the one forward drive position is prevented by engagement between the projection and the pin in a manner which does not interfere with appropriate shifting of the transmission during vehicle operation.

  • Patent number: 3933057
Abstract: A shift control mechanism is provided for a multipleforward-speed manual transmission with controlled operation of the shift lever between the reverse drive position and one forward drive position to prevent inadvertent shifting which might damage the transmission. A transmission lever whose movement is controlled through the shift lever is formed with a first projection extending therefrom which is adapted to engage a second projection extending from a housing. The housing is rotatably and linearly movable under the biasing force of spring means and when the shift lever is moved to the neutral position, engagement between the first and second projections will cause rotative movement of the housing. When the shift lever is moved to the one forward drive position, the spring means will rotate the housing back to its initial position thereby placing the second projection within the path of movement of the first projection.
