  • Patent number: 4523754
Abstract: A paper guiding device in a copying apparatus includes, in opposition, a lower guide plate having a main flat portion and an upper guide plate having a main flat portion. A plurality of rising pieces, having top edges and being laterally spaced apart upon the upper side of the main flat portion of the lower guide plate, rise above the lower guide plate and extend in the direction of movement of the copying paper. A plurality of hanging pieces, having lower edges and are laterally spaced apart on the lower side of the main flat portion of the lower guide plate, hang from the upper guide plate and extend in the direction of movement of the copying paper. The top edges and the lower edges define a path of movement of the copying paper while having minimal contact with the paper.

  • Patent number: 4515464
Abstract: A copying apparatus includes a sorter which is arranged to sort a plurality of copy paper sheets corresponding to a single original document, discharged from a main body of the copying apparatus, into a plurality of bins successively shifted to a paper discharge position by a shifting device. The copying apparatus includes a copy number preset key, a memory for memorizing a preset number of copies, a first counter for counting the number of copied paper sheets, a second counter for counting the number of discharged copy paper sheets, a device for stopping the copying operation when the counted value of the first counter agrees with the memorized preset number of copies, and a sort key for selecting a mode for sorting the copy paper sheets into the bins one sheet in each bin. An electrical circuit applies signals to the shifting device in order to change the moving direction of the bins when the counted value of the second counter agrees with the memorized preset number of copies in the sort mode.

  • Patent number: 4423948
Abstract: A detecting device for detecting when the amount of toner in a dual component developing material is less than a predetermined level includes a hopper for supplying the toner, a stirring roller for stirring a carrier and the toner from the hopper, and a detector for detecting the amount of developing material provided near the stirring roller to mix the toner supplied from the hopper with the carrier. A discriminator discriminates an output signal from the detector for a predetermined interval during the rotational period of the stirring roller. An indicating element operates in response to the output signal from the discriminator to indicate when the amount of the toner in the developing material is less than the predetermined level. Since it is indicated when the toner in the developing material is less than the predetermined level, the toner is supplied according to such indication, and therefore, an undesirable deterioration of copy density is prevented.

  • Patent number: 4405226
Abstract: The present invention relates to a developing material supplying control device for an electrostatic copying apparatus which includes an oscillator circuit composed of an oscillation coil provided along a toner supplying passage, a timer, a counter for counting the output signal from the oscillation circuit at every interval predetermined by the timer to supply a discriminating output signal when the counted value is equal to a predetermined value for each of the intervals. A toner supply acts in response to the discriminating output signal from the counter for supplying toner to the toner supplying passage. Since this invention employs the oscillation coil and does not employ a mechanical switch having a movable contact for detecting toner in the toner supplying passage, the toner supplying operation is achieved precisely.
