Patent number: 8456097Abstract: A driver circuit produces variable current output for an LED lighting system providing improved dimming capability and greater power efficiency when responding to industry standard lighting dimmers through the use of an input voltage monitoring circuit which variably controls the current output of a switching regulator. Output current modulation methods such as analog, PWM, Pulse Frequency Modulation, or other digital modulation, and combination or hybrid may be employed. The current invention marries such output modulation techniques with a control method which is derived through intelligent monitoring of the input voltage waveform. The circuit and method described is adapted to higher current applications such as LED lighting systems using the latest high-power LEDs.Type: GrantFiled: October 19, 2012Date of Patent: June 4, 2013Assignee: Boca Flasher, Inc.Inventors: Steven J McKinney, Isay Goltman

Patent number: 7064663Abstract: An object location system having tags for tracking objects. A finder and tags each have a memory, and RF send and receive capabilities. The finder stores tag identification codes in its memory, and associates the tag identification codes with descriptive text identifying an object to a user. A user selects a descriptive text identifier to locate an object, and the finder transmits a search RF signal including the tag identification code to locate the tag attached to the desired object. The tags receive the search RF signal and compare the transmitted tag identification code with their own stored identification codes. A tag responds to the finder by transmitting a found RF signal if the transmitted and stored tag identification codes match. The finder signals to the user that the object with the selected descriptive text identifier has been located, and indicates a relative proximity of the finder to the object.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 2003Date of Patent: June 20, 2006Assignee: Basix Holdings, LLCInventors: Donald Pucci, Bianca Gallo Pucci, Isay Goltman

Patent number: 6204668Abstract: A differential DC/RF bridge-configured flowcell particle detector includes a flowcell and an adjustable circuit model of the flowcell, which are differentially coupled through output amplifier circuits and galvanically isolated from sources of signal degradation. The output of the difference amplifier is coupled to a DC/RF discriminator and associated downstream processing circuitry. Respective amplitude and phase outputs of the DC/RF discriminator are used to control amplitude and phase adjustment circuits of the adjustable circuit model, so as to automatically track amplitude and phase variations in the non-linear behavior of the flowcell, to mirror the characteristic impedance of the flowcell, thereby making the bridge insensitive to variations in the flowcell.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 1999Date of Patent: March 20, 2001Assignee: Coulter International Corp.Inventors: Melwyn F.
