  • Publication number: 20250099041
Abstract: A system includes a medical probe and a processor. The medical probe includes a shaft for insertion into a cavity of an organ of a patient; an expandable assembly fitted at a distal end of the shaft, wherein the expandable assembly has elastic properties; a position sensing element mounted on the distal end of the shaft; and at least one distal position sensing element on a distal end of the expandable assembly. The processor senses relative location of each of the at least one distal position sensing element and the proximal position sensing element; determines deflection of the expandable assembly based on the relative location; relates the deflection to the contact force applied on the expandable assembly; and provides an indication of the contact force on a display.

  • Publication number: 20240216056
Abstract: The disclosed technology includes a segmented spine comprising a first electrode, a first spine strut, and a second spine strut. The first spine strut comprises a first attachment point configured to couple with the first electrode. The second spine strut comprises a second attachment point configured to couple with the first electrode. The first spine strut and second spine strut can comprise of additional attachment points configured to engage with a distal retention hub or a tubular shaft. The attachment points can be configured to permit the plurality of spine struts to rotate around the respective attachment points.

  • Publication number: 20240216046
Abstract: The disclosed technology includes a medical probe comprising a tubular shaft extending along a longitudinal axis and including a proximal end and a distal end. The medical probe further comprises an expandable basket assembly proximate the distal end of the tubular shaft. The basket assembly comprises a single unitary structure that includes a plurality of linear spines formed from a single piece of material and one or more electrodes coupled to each of the spines, each electrode defining a lumen through the electrode so that a spine extends through the lumen of each of the one or more electrodes. The spines converge at a central spine intersection at a distal end of the basket assembly. The central spine intersection includes one or more cutouts that allows for bending of the spines. Each spine comprises a respective end connected to the distal end of the tubular shaft.

  • Publication number: 20240216049
Abstract: The disclosed technology includes an end effector in a medical catheter including a woven mesh extending along a longitudinal axis from a proximal portion to a distal portion, the woven mesh defining a generally spheroidal shape having a plurality of electrodes disposed about the longitudinal axis and adjacent to an equator of the generally spheroidal shape with the proximal portion configured to be attached to a shaft and with the distal portion configured to be invaginated and coupled to an actuator extending along the longitudinal axis.

  • Publication number: 20240206965
Abstract: The disclosed technology includes a medical probe including an expandable basket assembly. The basket assembly includes a spine, and the spine includes a deformed region, a spine protrusion, that can be used to deposit an electrode. The electrode can be formed of an electrode assembly that can include an insulative layer and an electrode layer. The electrode assembly is deposed on the spine protrusion so as to avoid the need of separate electrode components that must be positioned along the length of the spine.

  • Publication number: 20240180614
Abstract: The disclosed technology includes a spine member for an end effector, the spine member extending along a longitudinal axis from a proximal end to a distal end. The spine member includes a unidirectional proximal stop member to allow an electrode to slide in a direction distally but not proximally and a distal stop member to prevent an electrode from sliding past.
