Abstract: An article alignment device aligns articles having first end portions and second end portions that have a shape different from the shape of the first end portions. The article alignment device includes a first conveyance device, a second conveyance device, and a control device. The first conveyance device has conveyance units that carry and convey the articles. The first conveyance device conveys the articles in a first orientation. In the first orientation the first end portions are positioned on a downstream side with respect to a first conveyance direction of the articles. The second conveyance device is placed downstream of the first conveyance device. The control device controls the first and second conveyance devices such that the orientation of first articles conveyed by the second conveyance device are changed to a second orientation where the second end portions are positioned on the downstream side.

Abstract: A weighing device includes a weighing unit, a camera, an identifying unit, a product weight calculation unit, a label printer unit, a person sensor and a shopper-side notification unit. The weighing unit measures weight of a container and a product therein selected by a shopper to produce a weight value. The camera detects the size of the container. The identifying unit identifies the container based on size. The product weight calculation unit subtracts weight of the identified container from the weight value to calculate the weight of a product. The label printer unit prints a label displaying the price of the product based on the weight of the product. The person sensor detects whether or not the shopper is present at the weighing device. The shopper-side notification unit guides the shopper through purchasing and label printing in response to the person sensor detecting the presence of the shopper.

Abstract: A bag-making packaging machine includes a bag-producing part, a bag receiving part, and a bottom forming part. The bag-producing part is configured and arranged to transversely seal a tubular packaging material to produce a bag having a top seal part and a bottom seal part formed above and below a product-enclosing main body of the bag. The bag receiving part is configured and arranged to receive and hold the bottom seal part and a part of the main body of the bag, which has been dropped from the bag-producing part. The bottom-forming part is configured and arranged to deform the bag in contact with the bag receiving part to form a bottom portion of the bag into a prescribed shape.

Abstract: A packaging apparatus includes a chute, a moving member, and a control unit. The chute encloses a passage space, and has a slit formed in a first portion. Items to be packaged are supplied from an upper apparatus to the passage space. The first portion surrounds a first space. The first space is part of the passage space, where the items targeted to be packaged, readily become clogged. The moving member is configured to move into the first space and withdraw from the first space through the slit. The control unit causes the moving member to enter the first space after the items targeted to be packaged have passed through the first space.

Abstract: [Problem to be Solved] To provide a display strip capable of attaching by heat sealing bags comprising a biaxial oriented film and having no low-melting-point layer on the outer surface of the bag. [Solution] In the display strip comprising a substrate layer and a sealant layer, problems can be solved by using the display strip characterized in that the sealant layer contains an acid-modified olefin resin. In particular, it is more preferable that the sealant layer contains (a) an acid-modified olefin resin, (b) a non-acid-modified olefin resin and (c) an adhesion-imparting agent.
