  • Patent number: 11581154
Abstract: A power tool includes an electric motor, an output member selectively driven by the electric motor and a battery receptacle configured to receive a battery. The power tool also includes a switch trigger moveable between a first position and a second position. The switch trigger inhibits electrical communication between the battery and the electric motor while the switch trigger is in the first position. The switch trigger operates a switch to provide electrical communication between the electric motor and the battery while the switch trigger is in the second position. A lock actuator prevents movement of the switch trigger to the second position while the lock actuator is in a locked position, and the lock actuator permits movement of the switch trigger to the second position while in an unlocked position. The lock actuator is biased into the unlocked position while the battery is positioned in the receptacle.

  • Publication number: 20200261933
Abstract: A paint sprayer includes a housing and a syringe assembly coupled to the housing with a reservoir and a plunger positioned within the reservoir. The reservoir is configured to store fluid. The paint sprayer also includes a spray assembly in fluid communication with the syringe assembly. The spray assembly includes a spray nozzle and a spray tip. The spray tip is configured to expel fluid. The paint sprayer further includes a motor pump assembly disposed in the housing and an actuator operable to energize the motor pump assembly to draw fluid from the reservoir and expel it from the spray tip.

  • Publication number: 20190217459
Abstract: A system for managing a power tool includes a tool implement and a tool base releasably attachable to the tool implement. The tool implement includes a working end, a memory storing an information parameter, and an electronic processor configures to transmit the information parameter. The tool base includes a base housing, an electric motor, a rotatable output shaft coupled to the electric motor, an electrical interface coupled to the electronic processor, and a controller including a first and second electronic processor. Through the electrical interface, the controller is configured to receive the information parameter, by the first and second processors, as first and second data, determine whether the first data and the second data agree, and enable a function of the motor of the tool base in response to determining that the first data and the second data agree.

  • Publication number: 20190015963
Abstract: A power tool includes a power tool base having a base housing and a motor supported by the base housing. The power tool also includes a power tool implement selectively coupled to the power tool base. The power tool implement includes an implement housing and a working end coupled to the implement housing. One of the power tool base and the power tool implement includes a first interface portion having a protrusion. The other one of the power tool base and the power tool implement includes a second interface portion having an opening configured to receive the first interface portion. The power tool implement is coupled to the power tool base in response to axially moving the first interface portion into the second interface portion and rotating the implement housing relative to the base housing such that the protrusion of the first interface portion engages the second interface portion.
