  • Patent number: 11901512
Abstract: An electrolyte includes at least one lithium salt, at least one first organic solvent having a dielectric constant of >90 at 40° C., at least one second organic solvent having a boiling point of <110° C., and at least one phosphite having the formula (I) R1 is selected from an n-propoxy group, an iso-propoxy group, a tert-butoxy group, an n-pentafluoropropoxy group, an n-trifluoropropoxy group, an iso-hexafluoropropoxy group, or a tert-nonafluorobutoxy group. R2, R3, R4, and R5 are each selected, independently of one another, from H, a trifluoromethyl group, or a C2-C6-alkyl group which is substituted with a trifluoromethyl group.

  • Publication number: 20230099524
Abstract: An imidazolidinylide compound for use as a shut-down additive for a lithium-ion battery. The imidazolidinylide compound has a formula (I), wherein, R1 to R4, each independently the other, is a linear C1- to C16-alkyl group, a branched C1- to C16-alkyl group, a C2- to C16-alkenyl group, a C3- to C8-cycloalkyl group, or a C3- to C16-arene group, wherein at least one of R2 and R3 may also be H, R1 to R4, each independently of the other, is completely, partially or not fluorinated, and R1 to R3 may each also contain O as a heteroatom.

  • Patent number: 11342584
Abstract: A solvent-free polymer electrolyte having a polymer matrix which is conductive for lithium ions and a lithium salt, wherein the polymer matrix has at least one pseudo-polyrotaxane which includes at least one linear polymer and at least one ring-shaped molecule, and wherein the lithium salt is arranged in the polymer matrix and is at least partially chemically bonded to the polymer matrix, wherein the polymer matrix includes at least one pseudo-polyrotaxane with at least one completely or partially chemically modified cyclodextrin or at least one completely or partially chemically modified crown ether, in which the present hydroxyl groups of the cyclodextrin, or the scaffold of the crown ether, are/is partly or completely modified by functional groups, wherein the functional groups comprise alkyl, aryl, alkenyl, alkynyl groups (Cn, with n?5), or other short-chain polymer groups having up to 20 repeating units.

  • Publication number: 20210313623
Abstract: The invention relates to novel liquid electrolytes for applications in rechargeable lithium ion batteries, lithium metal batteries and lithium-sulfur batteries. Electrolyte mixtures comprising organic nonlinear carbonates as solvent and cyclic sulfoxides as cosolvent in combination with at least one lithium salt show elevated conductivities and reduced viscosities compared to electrolytes based exclusively on propylene carbonate. Moreover, they are soluble within a wide temperature window and show good conductivities and excellent stabilities even at low temperatures. The solvents permit high solubility and dissociation of various lithium salts, are inexpensive to produce and simultaneously safe to the human organism.
