  • Publication number: 20240103843
Abstract: An example operation includes one or more of downloading an update of a non-volatile electrically erasable memory storage of a vehicle, determining whether the memory storage is arranged in one of a block of bytes of memory and an individual byte of memory, selecting a programming protocol based on the memory storage arrangement and writing the memory storage based on the selected programming protocol.
    Type: Application

    Publication date: March 28, 2024
Applicant: TOYOTA MOTOR NORTH AMERICA, INC.
Inventors: Edward Allen Cain, JR., Satyajit P. Patne, Russell K. Barker, Ryan N. Wilson, Ismail Thanickel
  • Publication number: 20240106663
Abstract: An example operation includes one or more of obtaining, by a server, a certificate from an IoT device associated with a vehicle, determining, by the server, the certificate is not a revoked certificate, assigning, by the server, a temporary certificate to the IoT device, and validating, by the server, the temporary certificate.
    Type: Application

  • Patent number: 11626977
Abstract: An example operation includes one or more of receiving, via a first communication channel between a sending device and a recipient device, a first partial encryption key from the receiving device, receiving, via a second communication channel between the sending device and the recipient device, a second partial encryption key from the receiving device, wherein the second communication channel comprises a different communication medium than the first communication channel, generating a transport key based on the first partial encryption key and the second partial encryption key received via the first and second channels, and encrypting data based on the generated transport key and transmitting the encrypted data to the receiving device.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 24, 2021
Date of Patent: April 11, 2023
Assignee: TOYOTA MOTOR NORTH AMERICA, INC.
Inventors: Edward Allen Cain, Jr., Ismail Thanickel, Jonathan Burnham, Satyajit P. Patne, Neal Shen, Stephen Paul McFarland, Jr.

  • Publication number: 20220123923
Abstract: An example operation includes one or more of creating, by a transport, a digital key when the transport is powered on, wherein the digital key relates to an identity of an occupant of the transport, creating, by the transport, a digital sub-key that is related to the digital key, using, by the transport, the digital key during processing of a first set of functions, and using, by the transport, the digital sub-key during processing of a second set of functions that are more critical than the first set of functions.

  • Publication number: 20170111765
Abstract: A technique to determine whether a mobile device is in a “substantially stationary” state or a “substantially moving” state (e.g., with respect to a geo-fence in which the device may be within). These states are possible “motion” states associated with the mobile device. Preferably, the determination leverages a data table that includes a defined set of states (either “substantially stationary,” “substantially moving” or “no change”) associated with various transitions of the mobile device from, on the one hand, a “last reported activity” and, on the other hand, a currently-determined “probable activity.” Preferably, the new motion state is the substantially stationary state when the probable activity is relatively slower than last-reported activity, irrespective of whether the mobile device is in true motion. On the other hand, the new motion state is the substantially moving state when the probable activity is relatively faster than the last-reported activity.
