  • Publication number: 20230214541
Abstract: In one embodiment, a kinetic shape is designed by determining an applied force to be applied to an object that is to incorporate the kinetic shape, determining a reactive force that is desired to be produced in response to the applied force, inputting the applied force and the reactive force into a kinetic shape equation, and solving the equation to obtain the kinetic shape.

  • Patent number: 9990333
Abstract: In one embodiment, a system or method for kinematically synchronizing uncoupled, dissimilar rotational systems pertain to modeling a first rotational system using an equation of motion to obtain a first system model, modeling a second rotational system that is physically dissimilar to the first rotational system using the equation of motion to obtain a second system model, and matching kinematic matching coefficients of the equations of motion for the first and second system models.

  • Patent number: 9520110
Abstract: The present invention is a novel variable tension string instrument that relies on a kinetic shape to actively alter the tension of a fixed length taut string. A mathematical model was derived that relates the two-dimensional kinetic shape equation to the string's physical and dynamic parameters. With this model, an automated instrument was designed and constructed to play frequencies within predicted and recognizable frequencies along with programmed melodies.
