  • Patent number: 8737952
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are concerned with a method and a system for scheduling the transmission of messages to a subscriber in a communications network based on communications events determined to have occurred from communications events generated by the communications network. The method includes identifying a communications event as one of a plurality of predetermined types of communications events on the basis of at least one said identified current or previous communications session, and, responsive to the identified communications event triggering a scheduling process for scheduling transmission of a message to the subscriber, in which the scheduling process is dependent on the type of communications event.

  • Patent number: 8254880
Abstract: A monitoring device makes decision on whether a service requested by a consumer is a sponsored service to the specific consumer or not based on sponsoring rules, i.e. the delivery of the requested service to the consumer can be sponsored if a sponsoring value of the consumer is sufficient in relation to a charge of delivery of the requested service. The sponsoring rules contain various pieces of information for recognizing a sponsored service and for determining the sponsoring value and the cost of the delivery. The sponsoring of different services to different consumers can be controlled, created, deleted, maintained or modified by means of the sponsoring rules. The sponsor, such an advertiser is able to control the cost of sponsoring by affecting the sponsoring value.

  • Patent number: 8254917
Abstract: Method and system for managing delivery of communications such as advertisements to mobile telephone subscribers where delivery to roaming subscribers is prevented or blocked when the subscriber is determined to be using a roaming network and revenue derived from delivery of the advertisements to a roaming subscriber is less than the cost for delivering the advertisements to the roaming subscribers.

  • Publication number: 20120095831
Abstract: An apparatus receives a communication from a user address to a sender address and checks from a database whether a pair of the user address from which the communication is received and the sender address to which the communication is received, match to any of a plurality of previously defined pairs of sender addresses and user addresses stored in the database. Each of the previously defined pairs of user and sender addresses is associated with a prompting message previously sent to the respective user address for prompting to the user to communicate back to the respective sender address. If a matching previously defined pair of addresses is found, an action defined for the matching pair of addresses is performed, and the received communication and the performed action is charged according to a charging rule defined for the matching pair of addresses in the database.

  • Publication number: 20110195688
Abstract: A method solves the problem of implementing flexile charging of subscribers so that no changes, or minor changes, need to do in charging systems. Hence, the problem is how the rating and charging of communication events can be separated. The method is provided for creating, due a detection of a communication event, a notification relationship between a network node and a rating engine, wherein the notification relationship obeys a charging control protocol. Then the rating engine forms a supplementary instruction on the basis of information obtained from the notification relationship. Finally, the rating engine sends the supplementary instruction to the online charging system that re-charges the communication event according to the supplementary instruction. The invention also comprises a rating engine in accordance with a single charging embodiment in which the rating engine alone controls the charging of the communication event.

  • Patent number: 7751837
Abstract: A method and system are provided for processing a message, which is being delivered from one mobile network to another. A request to send routing instructions of the message to a store-and-forward center of a transmitting mobile network is received at a moderator server of a receiving mobile network. The routing instructions are generated in the moderator server, so that the routing instructions instruct the store-and-forward center to route the message to a gateway server of the receiving mobile network. The routing instructions are transmitted from the moderator server to the store-and-forward center. Then the message, which has been sent according to the routing instructions from the store-and-forward center of the transmitting mobile network, is received at the gateway server. From the gateway server the message is forwarded for modifying and archiving purposes of the message.

  • Patent number: 7643816
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to a messaging system for managing communications resources and are particularly suitable for providing a means for subscribers of a telecommunications network to continue participating in a communications service that would otherwise be ended due to the calling party having a low or zero balance. Embodiments of the invention are generally applicable to users of a mobile network. Embodiments of the invention provide a messaging system for use by the telecommunications network to transmit a message to a remote party, where the remote party is identified by means of a telephone calling identifier associated with a call setup request for a telecommunications session received from a user of the telecommunications network. The messaging system comprises a storage system for storing data providing a predetermined definition of message content to be sent to the remote party.
