  • Patent number: 11473241
Abstract: A method of producing chemical pulp including at least the following steps: a) wood chips or other comminuted ligno-cellulosic fibrous material is treated with a polysulfide-containing cooking liquor in an impregnation stage at a temperature of 90-145° C., and b) slurry of fibrous material from step a) is heated into cooking temperature and cooked for producing pulp having a desired kappa number. • Patent number: 10415183
Abstract: A method of producing regenerated cellulose and hemicellulose from a fiber pulp which is prepared by using chemical cooking. Hemicellulose and, correspondingly, cellulose is separated from the pulp, in order to form separate fractions, by dissolving them in such a solvent or an aqueous solution of it, from which they are precipitated by adding water, after which the regenerated hemicellulose and cellulose can be recovered. Hemicellulose-containing pulp, which for example is used as raw material of paper, can be efficiently fractionated into polymeric hemicellulose-rich fractions and very pure cellulose fractions, such as regenerated cellulose fiber, various cellulose particles or cellulose films.

  • Patent number: 7591988
Abstract: In a method for processing flue gases, flue gases from an incineration plant for non-condensable gases of a kraft pulp mill are scrubbed by means of a calcium compound. The calcium compound is lime mud taken from the chemical recirculation of the kraft pulp mill after causticization and before a lime reburning kiln, and it is used in the scrubbing of gas as a substance reacting with sulphur dioxide.

  • Publication number: 20070034344
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for the removal of concentrated odorous gases of a pulp mill. According to the method, the concentrated odorous gases containing sulphur compounds are collected from the odorous gases of the sulphite pulp mill and combusted with under air to oxidize the sulphur compounds, so that at least an essential part of the sulphur compounds is oxidized into elemental sulphur. The elemental sulphur is recovered in a liquid or solid form. It can be returned to the process or used in other processes.

  • Patent number: 4481074
Abstract: The method relates to a process in the preparation of the cooking liquor for sodium sulphite pulp for carrying out a reaction between sodium bisulphite and sodium bicarbonate and/or sodium carbonate by bringing solutions containing said compounds into contact with each other. The contact between the solution and gas phase takes place in a layer of tower packings. The carbon dioxide produced as a reaction product is allowed to pressurize the reaction vessel a pressure of 1 to 5 bar by restricting the flow escaping from the reaction vessel and by recovering at the same time the carbon dioxide escaping from the reaction vessel at the said pressure in order to use it for carbonation of a solution of green liquor and/or sodium carbonate.
