  • Patent number: 10264117
Abstract: Embodiments relate to a method for detecting a broken binder in an access network including a plurality of telecommunication lines grouped in respective binders, executed by a detection device, including identifying a plurality of telecommunication lines for which a transmission interruption has been detected within a given time period obtaining line data associated with the respective identified telecommunication lines, for respective pairs of identified telecommunication lines, determining a virtual distance between the two telecommunication lines, in function of the associated line data, determining at least one cluster of telecommunication lines in function of the virtual distances, and detecting a broken binder in function of the determined at least one cluster.

  • Publication number: 20180115640
Abstract: Embodiments relate to a method for determining a corrective operation for a monitored Digital Subscriber Line in a first vectoring group, executed by a monitoring device, including receiving measurement data representative of successive received signal qualities of the monitored Digital Subscriber Line at successive times, and of successive transmission activities of other Digital Subscriber Lines, wherein the other Digital Subscriber Lines include at least one first Digital Subscriber Line in said first vectoring group and at least one second Digital Subscriber Line in a second vectoring group, determining a corrective operation for the monitored Digital Subscriber Line in function of changes in the received signal qualities between times wherein the transmission activity of at least one of the other Digital Subscriber Lines changes.

  • Patent number: 9509368
Abstract: The method and a device determine a parameter that characterizes a number of spare positions to be used for cancelling the crosstalk of lines joining a digital subscriber line vectoring group. The vectoring includes cancelling the crosstalk caused by a maximum number of lines of the vectoring group and reserving the number of spare positions. In order to provide a method and a device for determining a number of spare positions such that the vectoring group operates efficiently, the method includes determining a residual crosstalk metric that depends on a residual crosstalk between at least two subscriber lines of the vectoring group; and determining the parameter that characterizes the number of spare positions depending on the at least one residual crosstalk metric by successively modifying the parameter until the residual crosstalk metric fulfills a termination condition.

  • Patent number: 9300358
Abstract: In a method and a device for identifying crosstalk from a disturbing telecommunication line to a victim telecommunication line of a communication network, the identifying depends on quiet line noise measurement data related to the victim telecommunication line. In order to provide such a method and associated device that allows for detecting abnormally high crosstalk caused by high bit rate telecommunication lines running in parallel to a section of the victim telecommunication line, the method includes estimating a coupling length depending on the quiet line noise measurement data; and detecting depending on the coupling length and a physical length of the victim telecommunication line that the crosstalk is caused by the disturbing telecommunication line extending in parallel to a section of the victim telecommunication line.

  • Patent number: 9124683
Abstract: A diagnostic engine for remotely analyzing a fault of a telecommunication line includes a first measurement module adapted to be coupled to a termination of the line and adapted to measure first line characteristics according to a Metallic Line Testing measurement technique; a fault detection module to detect, based upon the first line characteristics, a fault on the line and to trigger thereupon a determining module; and a showtime module to be coupled to the termination to determine whether the line is in showtime mode and to inform thereupon the determining module accordingly. The determining module is adapted to trigger, in the event when the line being in showtime mode, activation of a second measurement module. The second measurement module is adapted to be coupled to the termination and to measure second line characteristics according to a Dual Ended Line Testing measurement technique.
