    Abstract: A bolster assembly of a front end module for a vehicle that includes a composite structure having a first plurality of openings, a metal insert having a first end, a second end, and a second plurality of openings, a plurality of rivets that are inserted into the first plurality of openings of the composite structure and the second plurality of openings of the metal insert to fix the composite structure to the metal insert, the first plurality of openings being aligned with the second plurality of openings, and an injected plastic structure having a plurality of ribbing feet that holds together the composite structure and the metal insert such that the first end and the second end of the metal insert is in direct contact with the injected plastic structure to increase a shearing resistance of the bolster assembly.

The retainer is over-molded onto a hole in the front-end bolster, the plurality of threads extend on a partial length of the internal surface of the retainer at a predetermined rotation degree, and the plurality of threads are discontinued.

The method involves tighenting a fiber fabric which forms a reinforcement in a retention frame, the fiber fabric which is tightened in the retention frame is put into place in a mold, and the retention frame is retracted in a receptacle with a corresponding form, of the mold, injecting a matrix into the mold such as to impregnate the fiber fabric to obtain the composite material, and withdrawing the composite material and the retention frame from the mold.
