    Abstract: The invention relates to a combined pattern recognizing camera, especially made for the recognition of license plates. The camera has at least one optical imaging component, there is an optoelectronic image converter attached to this and an electronic control module. The optical imaging component has narrow angle of view (10/20/30 degrees) with a large depth of field (3.4) and generates a sharp image from a minimum distance 4/2.5/1 m to infinity.
