Abstract: In accordance with certain embodiments of the present disclosure, a catheter is provided. The catheter includes a body having a proximal portion and a distal portion. The body comprises a first element sealably interwoven with a second element to define a longitudinally extending lumen configured to pass fluid therethrough. The first element is wound in a clockwise direction and the second element is wound in a counterclockwise direction. The body further comprises a mechanism configured to cause the distal portion of the body to move toward the proximal portion causing the diameter of the lumen to increase.

Abstract: In accordance with one embodiment of the present disclosure, a butterfly needle device is described. The device comprises a needle having a proximal end and a distal tip, a base positioned over the needle, a first wing and a second wing each extending from the base and being configured to move between a generally abducted position and a generally adducted position, a spacer element extending from the first wing, a sleeve positioned over the needle, and a bridge element connecting the sleeve to the base.

Abstract: In accordance with one embodiment of the present disclosure, a device for assisting in development of a scar tissue tunnel track is described. The device comprises a base, a strap secured to the base, and a slide pivotally connected to the base. The base is configured to rest on a patient with the strap configured to extend around a portion of the patient to restrict movement of the base. The slide is configured to accommodate a needle and repeatably pivot to a position whereby the needle can be introduced in the patient at a repeatable angle.

Abstract: A cutting arrangement for a filament monitoring system for use in a draw-twister and the like comprises a gripping member, a cutting member and an intermediate filament guide, all of which are mounted on a spring actuated slide. Actuation of the slide causes the gripping member and cutting member to grip and cut the filament, the filament guide maintaining the filament in proper position.
