  • Patent number: 4816110
Abstract: An in-line sealer apparatus for applying and sealing foils to the mouth of sequentially presented containers. The apparatus includes a rotatable turret having a pocket wheel containing angularly spaced pockets for accommodating containers. Each pocket has a foil transfer and sealing mechanism which is associated therewith and mounted on the turret arrangement for rotation therewith. Each mechanism includes a stacker unit which removably attaches to the turret and stores therein a stack of foils. Each mechanism also includes a foil transfer and applying unit which is disposed below the stacker and includes a movable foil-engaging head for removing the lowermost foil in the stack, and thereafter transferring the foil and applying it to the mouth of the container positioned within the respective pocket.

  • Patent number: 4719739
Abstract: A continuous motion in line sealer assembly includes a sealer star wheel which is coordinated with a plurality of rotatable and receiprocable vacuum heads. Each vacuum head obtains a flexible foil sealing disk from a point of supply and positions the disk atop a container. The vacuum head and container then pass through an induction tunnel to activate a heatable adhesive. A pair of stationary cam plates control both the reciprocal motion of the vacuum head as well as providing it with a dwell time which momentarily interrupts its continuous motion to facilitate sealing disk acquisition.

  • Patent number: 4683016
Abstract: A two part closure for a container is comprised of a flexible foil sealing disk together with a flanged linerless screw threaded closure cap. During the process of applying the closure to a container, the flexible foil sealing disk is formed, heated, and is tack adhered to the rim of the container. A closure cap having downwardly extending spaced sealing flanges is then screwed onto the container. The cap's sealing flanges contact the flexible foil sealing disk on opposite edges of the container's mouth rim and, as the cap is screwed down, these flanges bring the flexible foil sealing disk into continuous, intimate sealing contact with the container rim. Additionally, the inner closure flange draws the portion of the flexible foil sealing disk situated within the container mouth tight to eliminate creases and wrinkles in the foil sealing disk.

  • Patent number: 4614305
Abstract: An apparatus for indicating and controlling the vehicle speed and load of a mobile foliage chopping machine. As rotational speed of the chopping drum increases over its permissible minimum, a vehicle increasing speed control is carried out. Correspondingly, a decrease in speed due to increase in the working load of the chopping drum is compensated by a reduction of gear transmission of the driving machinery. Thus, the adjusted speed is held but in case of chopping drum overload, when rotational speed of the drum starts to fall below the permissible minimum, the vehicle speed control is discontinued, i.e., a speed decreasing intervention is done, therefore the permissible working load of chopping machine is held, while overload is avoided.
