  • Publication number: 20090126376
Abstract: The invention concerns a method and a cooling system for oil separation in a cooling circuit, including compression means (4) that supply coolant under a first high pressure through means for oil separation (10) and further on through condensing means (12), from where coolant is applied restriction means (16), from where coolant is conducted to flooded evaporation means (18), from where the compression means (4) suck gaseous coolant back, where remaining oil in the flooded evaporation means is returned to the cooling circuit through an oil removal circuit (26). It is the purpose of the invention to achieve an efficient oil separation from a flooded evaporator (18).

  • Patent number: 7472563
Abstract: The invention provides a submerged evaporator (14) with integrated plate heat ex-changer (4) that may operate with markedly increased capacity, where the evaporator (14) does not require more space than other known types and have a smaller filling volume of refrigerant (10) than prior art units. The integrated plate heat exchanger (4) is built up with an outer contour that substantially follow the lower contour of the casing (6) and the liquid level, where the integrated heat exchanger (4) has at least one inlet connection (24.1) and at least one outlet connection (24.2) for secondary refrigerant (26), and where the upper volume of the casing acts as a liquid separator. With such design, much less space is occupied than with prior art types of submerged evaporators. The reason is that the internal volume is better utilised.

  • Publication number: 20080282713
Abstract: Method and a system for oil management where a common pressure shield contains all oil management functions for treatment of the mixture of oil and refrigerant leaving the compressor, and returning the oil to the compressor. The pressure shield may comprise at least the following components related to oil management; an oil separator from which oil is flowing to an oil sump, an oil cooler connected to the oil sump, a mixing valve in which the oil from the oil cooler is mixed with oil from the oil sump for achieving an optimised oil temperature, an oil filter for filtering the mixed oil, the mixed oil being returned from the oil filter to the compressor, and where at least the mentioned components can operate at a pressure level substantially equivalent to the discharge pressure at the compressor.
