In one aspect, a business transaction instantiated by a user is executed on an application server. During the execution, at least one database table of a plurality of database tables and at least one database relationship associated with the at least one database table are identified. In another aspect, a data structure model is automatically generated based on the identified at least one database table and at least one database relationship. In yet another aspect, data from the at least one database table is exposed to be consumed as a service based on the data structure model.
