Abstract: Inspection method, apparatus, and system for a circuit pattern, in which when various conditions which are necessary in case of inspecting a fine circuit pattern by using an image formed by irradiating white light, a laser beam, or a charged particle beam are set, its operating efficiency can be improved. An inspection target region of an inspection-subject substrate is displayed, and a designated map picture plane and an image of an optical microscope or an electron beam microscope of a designated region are displayed in parallel, thereby enabling a defect distribution and a defect image to be simultaneously seen. Item names of inspecting conditions and a picture plane to display, input, or instruct the contents of the inspecting conditions are integrated, those contents are overlapped to the picture plane and layer-displayed, and all of the item names are displayed in parallel in a tab format in the upper portion of the picture plane of the contents.

  • Publication number: 20030061282
Abstract: In an internet having a server for providing service, a client for receiving the service, plural proxy servers for standing proxy for an access to the server done by the client, and a proxy server selecting server for noticing an IP (Internet Protocol) corresponding to a domain name of the client in response to an inquiry with the domain name added thereon, the proxy server selecting server receives a request message with the domain name of the server for providing the target service from the client. Then, the proxy server selecting server notifies the client of the IP address of the most approximate server to the client in place of the IP address of the server, based on the physical/logical location information, and if necessary, the periodically obtained load information of the proxy servers. The client recognizes the proxy server of the IP address given thereto as the server for providing the target service and then makes access to the proxy server.

  • Publication number: 20030057011
Abstract: The electric power steering mechanism restricts a drive power supplied to a motor to less than a predetermined value if it detects a period of more than 200 mS in which the condition (1) that there is no change in the rotation angle of the rotation angle sensor and the condition (2) that the steering torque is over 7 Nm are satisfied at the same time. Consequently, torque generated by the motor is reduced, so that if end contact state is present, a rack shaft is returned in an opposite direction to the rack end by a reaction of a tire and as a result, a steering shaft is rotated, thereby the motor and the rotation angle sensor being rotated. That is, it is detected that the end contact state is present if there is a change in the rotation angle (Yes in (4) due to decrease in the drive power and that the motor remains stopped due to other reason if there is no change in the rotation angle (No in (4)).

  • Publication number: 20030061536
Abstract: A method for controlling power for a semiconductor storage device and the semiconductor storage device are provided which enable power consumption to be greatly reduced in a standby state. The power control method uses an ultra-low power consumption mode in which power control can be exerted in the standby state. In the ultra-low power consumption mode, a burst self-refresh state, power-OFF state, and power-ON state are provided. In the burst self-refresh state, memory cells are refreshed in a centralized manner. In the power-OFF state, an internal power source circuit can be partially turned OFF. In the power-ON state, internal power sources having been partially turned OFF are turned ON. Therefore, it is possible to greatly reduce power consumption in the standby state.

  • Patent number: 6538890
Abstract: A heat sink element in the form of a coil with a high thermal conductivity is formed. One end of the heat sink element is directly connected to a circuit element connection conductor under a high potential in a high-frequency circuit mounted on an electronic circuit substrate, and the other end thereof is directly secured to a metal case having the electronic circuit substrate contained therein. As a result, the heat sink element serves as a heat channel transferring the heat generated due to the temperature increase in the circuit element connection conductor to the metal case by means of thermal conductivity.

  • Patent number: 6538376
Abstract: In this photomultiplier tube 1, light incident on a light-receiving faceplate 3 is converted into photoelectrons by a photosensitive surface 3a, and the photoelectrons strike a dynode 4 to emit many secondary electrons. The secondary electrons are then collected by a mesh-like anode 5. Since the anode 5 is disposed to be parallel to the photosensitive surface 3a, the photoelectrons emerging from the photosensitive surface 3a can easily pass through a mesh portion 5a, and many photoelectrons can be made to strike the dynode 4. As the number of photoelectrons incident on the dynode 4 increases, the number of secondary electrons from the dynode 4 increases. This improves the gain characteristics of the photomultiplier tube 1. Since a secondary electron emission surface 4a of the dynode 4 is tilted with respect to the anode 5, photoelectrons having passed through the anode 5 obliquely strike the secondary electron emission surface 4a of the dynode 4.

  • Patent number: 6538719
Abstract: Vibration isolators (56B, 56C) supporting a main column (14) is mounted on a base plate (BP1), and vibration isolators (66B, 66C) supporting a stage supporting bed (16) is mounted independently of the base plate (BP1) on a base plate (BP2) arranged on the floor (FD). Therefore, vibration traveling between the base plates (BP1, BP2) is cut off, and the reaction force produced due to the movement (driving) of a wafer stage (WST) is not the cause of vibration of a projection optical system (PL) supported by the main column (14). Accordingly, a positional shift of the pattern to be transferred or an image blur due to the vibration of the projection optical system (PL) can be effectively avoided, and the exposure accuracy can be improved. Furthermore, it is possible to increase the speed and size of the substrate stage (WST), therefore, the throughput can also be improved.

  • Patent number: 6538629
Abstract: A liquid crystal drive unit having a scanning electrode driver and a signal electrode driver and controlling display according to the multi-line selection method. Assuming that gray-scale display is achieved based on n-bit data, one horizontal period is divided into n selection periods whose temporal widths are weighted according to display data. The sequence in which the weighted selection periods are selected within one horizontal period is not fixed but may be varied. The sequence of the weighted selection periods is differentiated between adjoining liquid crystal driving electrodes in the signal electrode driver. Alternatively, the sequence of the weighted selection periods may be made identical between horizontal periods before and after a liquid crystal alternating signal changes. Moreover, the widths of the weighted selection periods within one horizontal period can be varied.

  • Patent number: 6536879
Abstract: A cavity plate is constructed by laminating, using an adhesive, a plurality of thin plates with ink passages, such as pressure chambers and through holes. In the periphery of the ink passages, escape grooves and holes communicating with the escape grooves are formed such that the remaining adhesive is guided into the escape grooves without entering the ink passages and that air trapped in the adhesive is discharged through the escape holes to the outside. Accordingly, a plurality of thin plates are firmly bonded to each other by a layer of adhesive, while the ink passages remain intact to allow a good flow of ink.

  • Patent number: 6537315
Abstract: An artificial heart has a driving section, a nozzle section, a pump section for insertion into a ventricle of a human heart, and a sealing section forming a seal for a driving shaft extending from the driving section for driving the pump section. A sealing liquid chamber filled with a sealing liquid is formed around the driving shaft between the sealing mechanism and the driving section. The sealing liquid in the sealing liquid chamber maintains the sealing mechanism in a liquid-tight state and lubricates the sealing mechanism, whereby blood is prevented from entering the driving section. Even if blood happens to enter the driving section, the blood is mixed with the sealing liquid and does not coagulate. Thus, the operation of the artificial heart is not suppressed.
