  • Patent number: 5843264
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a vibration insulating assembly including a rubber vibration insulator and metallic members bonded thereto. In particular, the present invention relates to a method for manufacturing the same, by which the quality of the resulting assembly is improved by providing a high bonding strength between the vibration insulator and metallic members. Retainers are provided about the peripheries of the bonding surfaces of the rubber vibration insulator in order to restrict displacement and deformation of the rubber vibration insulator across the bonding surfaces or at the bonding interface with the metallic members and to facilitate its positioning. The presence of the retainers allows for the application of a predetermined pressure on the bonding surfaces to enhance the bonding strength while preventing an undesirable strain from forming in the bonding surface of the rubber vibration insulator.

  • Patent number: 5845053
Abstract: First, an operator sequentially teaches the start point A, the end point F and junction points B, C, D, E on the welding path by moving the torch head by jog feed without paying attention to the torch orientation. Next, a reference plane to define the orientation of the torch is specified, and an inclination angle and a forward angle representing the torch orientation be inputted into a robot controller. On the basis of these inputted angle data and the taught data, a basic welding orientation is automatically calculated. Further auxiliary points are set around the junction points B through E each forming corner parts connecting straight lines; tool vectors which may give a smooth torch orientation change through the corner parts are automatically calculated for the auxiliary points and the junction points; and on the basis of the results, a welding program is produced.

  • Patent number: 5843351
Abstract: This invention provides a composite reverse osmosis membrane having a polyamide type skin layer whose average surface roughness is at least 55 nm, and the polyamide type skin layer comprises the reaction product of a compound having amino groups and polyfunctional acid halide compound having acid halide groups. The composite reverse osmosis membrane of this invention is superior in salt rejection and water permeability. A polymer film is formed on a supporting film by contacting a solution containing e.g., m-phenylenediamine with a porous polysulfone supporting film so as to form a layer of the solution on the supporting film, then contacting the film with a solution of trimesic acid chloride and holding the film in a hot air dryer so that a polymer film is formed on the supporting film. The surface of the polyamide type skin layer can also be treated with quaternary ammonium salt and coated with a crosslinked layer of an organic polymer having positively-charged groups.
