    Abstract: Disclosed is a method for replacing a remote unit in a communication system. The method includes the steps of determining that a removed remote unit has been removed from the communication system. The method also includes the step of determining that a new remote unit has been installed in the place of the removed remote unit. The steps of the method further include recalling parameters associated with the removed remote unit and providing the recalled parameters associated with the removed remote unit to the new remote unit.
