  • Patent number: 6284696
Abstract: A mesopore molecular sieve having a hydrocarbon group bonded directly to a silicon atom in the metal oxide skeleton constituting the molecular sieve, wherein the content of said hydrocarbon group is from 0.01 to 0.6 mol per mol of the metal oxide. Also disclosed is a process for producing a mesopore molecular sieve having a hydrocarbon atom bonded to a silicon atom in the molecular sieve skeleton, which comprises synthesizing the mesopore molecular sieve, in the presence of a template, from: a silane compound represented by the following formula (1): RnSiX(4−n)  (1) wherein R represents a hydrocarbon group selected from C1-16 hydrocarbon groups and hydrocarbon groups substituted with an N—, O-, S-, P- or halogen-containing group; n represents 1, 2 or 3; and X is selected from C1-6 alkoxy groups, aryloxy groups, a hydroxyl group and halogen atoms and a plurality of X may be the same or different; and a metal oxide and/or a precursor thereof.

  • Patent number: 4242251
Abstract: A composition comprising a thermoplastic resin and an activated mineral filler, said mineral filler consisting of particles of at least one aluminosilicate-type mineral containing alakali metal ions as cations in its crystal structure, the surfaces of said particles being covered monomolecularly with at least one ethylenically unsaturated organic acid, having 10 or less carbon atoms, which is bonded to the metal ions on the surfaces of said particles and retains ethylenic double bonds unreacted. On being mixed under application of heat to cause reaction, this composition gives a molded article excellent in compatibility and physical properties such as stiffness, toughness, ductility, fatigue properties, water resistance, transparency, etc.

  • Patent number: 4146549
Abstract: A novel process for polymerizng ethylene or a mixture of ethylene and another olefin is provided. In this process a novel catalyst having a very high activity per solid component of catalyst is used. Said catalyst is prepared by reacting a specific hydrocarbon-soluble organoaluminum-magnesium complex containing alkoxy, aryloxy, siloxy or siloxane groups, with one or more kinds of a titanium or vanadium compound having at least one halogen atom, and subsequently reacting the thus obtained hydrocarbon-insoluble reaction product (A) with a specified organoaluminum compound (B).

  • Patent number: 4004071
Abstract: Polyethylene or copolymers of ethylene with another .alpha.-olefin can be produced by the use of a novel polymerization catalyst obtained by using, in combination, (A) a specified, hydrocarbon-insoluble solid component prepared by reacting (i) a specific, hydrocarbon-soluble organoaluminum-magnesium complex (Al.sub.n Mg.sub.m R.sub.n(3.sub.-.sub..alpha.).sup.1 -R.sub.2m.sup.2 H.sub.n, wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are hydrocarbon radicals) with (ii) a titanium or vanadium compound containing halogen atom(s), and (B) an organoaluminum compound. This catalyst exhibits a surprisingly high activity per the unit amount of the solid component.
