Abstract: A method of selecting a link set for routing a message in a telecommunications network, that does not require in sequence delivery, according to a destination point code, a signaling link selection code and a link selector value. The link selector value is incremented from a minimum, initial value, to a maximum value so as to point to sequential links in a link set, and then reset to the minimum value. A memory node includes a load sharing a list of load sharing links set in the network, a signaling link memory for storing signaling link selection codes, and a link selector memory for maintaining a link selector value.

Abstract: A method of selecting a link set for routing a message including a destination point code and a signaling link selection code includes the steps of maintaining a link selector value in a telecommunications network memory, determining that the message does not require in-sequence delivery, and selecting the link set according to the destination point code, the signaling link selection code, and the link selector value.
