Abstract: Disclosed are apparatus and methods for composting organic matter. According to some embodiments, the apparatus may include a reactor adapted to receive organic matter in a reaction chamber of the reactor through a first sealable opening in the reactor. At least one protruding structure protruding inward from an inner surface of said reaction chamber may include a cavity allowing flow of gases into and out of the reaction chamber.
