  • Patent number: 10135518
Abstract: A method includes, in a transceiver (28, 160), receiving from a repeater (32, 168) a received signal that includes a desired signal for reception and an undesired replica of a transmitted signal that was transmitted from the transceiver and retransmitted by the repeater. A local copy of the transmitted signal is generated in the transceiver. The local copy is matched with the undesired replica of the transmitted signal in the received signal, by adapting the received signal while retaining the local copy non-adaptive. An interference caused by the undesired replica to the desired signal is canceled, by subtracting the local copy from the adapted received signal.

  • Publication number: 20040192378
Abstract: A remote telephone system for wireless telephony devices includes a remote server having communication control support to provide digital communication function control. Wireless telephony devices are grouped and the support is independently programmable for each group. The remote server further includes a data port connected to the communication control support for supporting a wireless data link to an individual wireless telephony device, and the remote server uses the data port to exchange programmed digital communication function control with the individual device. The data link to the control support gives the wireless device the functionality of a smart handset and bestows upon the group properties of an office exchange.

  • Patent number: 5991384
Abstract: An apparatus for facilitating the making of a calling card telephone call includes a central processing unit (CPU) and a storage device for storing access data to enable access to a central telephone office connected to a telephone network, account data and a telephone number. The apparatus further includes a dialer capable of transmitting and receiving signals to and from the user interface, the telephone network and the central telephone office. The central processing unit, responsive to an entry of the telephone number on the user interface, stores the telephone number in the storage device. Thereafter, the CPU causes the dialer to transmit access data from the storage device, across the telephone network, to initiate communication with the central telephone office.

  • Patent number: 5862203
Abstract: A call management system is disclosed for choosing the optimum telecommunications carrier for telephone calls made by a user. The system can interface with an existing PBX or with ordinary analog telephone lines. The system intercepts digits dialed by the caller or user and determines an optimum route for the call based on a plurality of parameters. The optimum route includes a particular carrier through which the call is to be placed. The system then dials the prefix for the carrier and subsequently places the destination digits originally dialed by the user onto the telephone line. A data server constructs a carrier selection table optimized for a user's location, calling habits, preferences, personal data, etc. The carrier selection table is downloaded via a communications network to a local computer. In one embodiment, the local computer receives call progress signals and the user's dialed digits from one or more line units.
