  • Patent number: 10246968
Abstract: A method for cementing a tubular string into a wellbore includes: running the tubular string into the wellbore using a workstring having a deployment assembly; delivering an opener activator through the workstring to the deployment assembly, thereby launching an opener plug from the deployment assembly; pumping the opener activator and plug to a stage valve of the tubular string, thereby opening the stage valve; pumping cement slurry into the workstring; pumping a closer activator through the workstring behind the cement slurry, thereby launching a closer plug from the deployment assembly; and pumping the closer activator and plug to the open stage valve, thereby driving the cement slurry into an annulus between the tubular string and the wellbore and closing the stage valve.

  • Publication number: 20180171728
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to a well control/string release tool 70a and methods using the tool. The well control/string release tool 70a may be attached to a workstring 9 while performing well control procedures. The well control/string release tool may be used to release the workstring 9 attached thereto in a controlled manner in the event of critical emergency well control. A well control/string release tool includes a release sub 204, a handling sub 202, and one or more load bearing elements 228 selectively coupled between the release sub 204 and the handling sub 202.

  • Patent number: 9970258
Abstract: A method of using a liner assembly comprises inserting the liner assembly into a wellbore, the liner assembly having an annular packer and a port collar. The method further comprises closing fluid flow through a lower end of the liner assembly, actuating the annular packer into engagement with the wellbore, and actuating the port collar into an open position to open fluid communication between an interior of the liner assembly and the wellbore. The method further comprises pumping cement into the wellbore through the port collar at a location above the annular packer and actuating the port collar into a closed position to close fluid communication between the interior of the liner assembly and the wellbore.

  • Patent number: 9915105
Abstract: A swivel configured to rotationally decouple an upper section of a work string from a lower section of the work string. The swivel includes an upper body coupled to a lower body by a ring member and a plurality of shearable members. The lower body has a plurality of teeth members that engage a plurality of teeth members of the ring member. Rotation of the upper body is transmitted to the lower body by the ring member. The upper body is rotatable relative to the lower body when the shearable members are sheared.
