  • Patent number: 6851523
Abstract: A horizontally extending body or base member includes a forward portion and a rearward portion and has downwardly projecting teeth for engaging a wire grid mounted on a bed or floor. The forward portion of the base member supports a wheel engaging head member for relative horizontal movement between extended and retracted positions, and compression springs bias the head member to its extended position. A lock member is supported by the rearward portion of the base member for pivotal movement between released and locked positions and also has downwardly projecting teeth for engaging the wire grid. The head member carries a wheel engaging extension member for pivotal movement between retracted and extended positions. A side paddle member is also carried by the head member to resist lateral movement of the wheel, and preferably all of the members are each molded of a liquid thermoset plastics material.

  • Publication number: 20010019055
Abstract: An over-molded product, such as a container, and a method of manufacture. The product is primarily used for enclosing hazardous materials and is formed by utilizing a thermosetting plastic material in a reaction injection molding process at low temperature and pressure to envelop adjacent portions of two or more components to form the desired product. This provides a mechanical interface but avoids a chemical reaction which would degrade the components.

  • Patent number: 5782187
Abstract: A pivot plate assembly for supporting vehicles over the articulation between pivotably interconnected railway car units, and allowing rolling transport of vehicles from one railway car unit to the next. Platforms are pivotably attached to respective railway car units adjacent their interconnected ends. A vehicle has its front end portion secured to one of the pivotal platforms and its rear end portion secured to the other platform while the platforms are oriented collinearly with respect to one another. The vehicle thereby maintains the pivotal platforms collinear with one another as the railway car units pivot with respect to one another. Accordingly, the pivotal platforms remain substantially stationary with respect to the vehicle supported thereon throughout pivotal movement of the railway car units to stably support the vehicle straddling the articulation between pivotably interconnected railway car units during transport.

  • Patent number: 5636951
Abstract: A pallet retainer for securing a load on a pallet within a cargo container is monolithic and has upper and lower arms. The arms are placed under and over a transverse member of the pallet and the retainer is secured to the floor of the cargo container by various means to prevent forward and aft shifting. The upper arms may be bifurcated into two transversely spaced segments to retain the vertical members of the pallet and prevent transverse shifting.

  • Patent number: 4773798
Abstract: The portable washer cutter of this invention comprises a pair of enclosures adapted to be interconnected and operative to rotate to progressively close the two enclosures together. A cutting knife edge secured in one enclosure progressively engages with each rotation a flat washer blank supported in the other enclosure to produce a desired central cut-out from the washer blank.
