  • Publication number: 20240168038
Abstract: The current invention provides methods which can be implemented alongside clinical variables as risk prediction tools for improved prediction of CKD progression and mortality. Surprisingly it was found that decreased C3a-desArg was associated with adverse outcome in CKD, and when combined with increased STNFR1 and NGAL it gave an excellent predictor of progression to a composite endpoint in CKD patients.

  • Patent number: 10984280
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for determining the presence of objects in an image. The techniques used process pixel data within the image by a relatively small number of pixel rows at a time. The angle and magnitude date from the pixels within an image are redistributed into a plurality histogram of magnitude bins associated with groupings of pixels. Once enough groupings of pixels equivalent to the height of a Block worth of pixels have been made, partial Support Vector Machine (SVM) calculations are performed on that Block worth of pixels. This is repeated until there are sufficient partial results equivalent to the height of the feature window, and then a full SVM calculation is performed. This process then may be used to scan across the whole image to determine the presence of objects within it.

  • Patent number: 9455793
Abstract: Provided is a digital radio receiver system and method for switching from receiving a first broadcast service to an alternative broadcast service. Also provided is a digital radio receiver system and method for scanning for broadcast services in a broadcast signal to generate an alternative broadcast service list for use in controlling the digital radio receiver system. A digital radio receiver utilizes spectrum awareness data, which includes data defining one or more frequencies at which broadcast services may be receivable, in order to faster selection of an alternative broadcast service from an alternative broadcast service list containing data relating to alternative broadcast services that are linked by a relationship to other broadcast services. By using the spectrum awareness data, only entries that are considered valid (i.e.

  • Patent number: 9065577
Abstract: Provided is a method of scanning for broadcast services in a broadcast signal to generate a broadcast service list for use with a digital radio receiver system, and the digital radio receiver system used for scanning for broadcast services to generate a broadcast service list. The system utilises spectrum awareness data, which includes data defining one or more frequencies at which broadcast services may be receivable, in order to reduce the number of frequencies to scan such that the overall scan time may be reduced. The data in the spectrum awareness data is a filtered subset of the plurality of frequencies at which the broadcast services may be received, which allows the controller of a digital radio receiver to tune a tuner to only the frequencies that are likely to contain a broadcast service when generating or updating a broadcast service list.
