  • Patent number: 5980598
Abstract: A filter cleaning apparatus for removing dust and debris from a stationary filter having a dust and debris collecting surface. The apparatus includes a longitudinally extending duct having a lengthwise slot formed therein. A belt in the duct extends across the slot whereby the duct and the belt together define a plenum. The belt has an opening formed therein adjacent the slot and in fluid communication with the plenum. The belt is mounted for movement along the slot such that the opening may be repositioned along the length of the slot. A nozzle is mounted on the belt for movement therewith and extends outwardly from the belt. The nozzle has an inlet distal from the belt. The inlet has a width substantially transverse to the length of the slot which is greater than a corresponding width of the opening in the belt. The inlet is in fluid communication with the opening and thereby the plenum. The apparatus further includes a belt driver for moving the belt along the slot.

  • Patent number: 5466271
Abstract: A pre-filter for removing lint particles from an air stream entering a filter system wherein an enclosed housing has an air inlet for receiving particle containing air from a remote source and an air outlet in communication with a filter system, a screen covering the air outlet, a vacuum nozzle having a lint inlet adjacent the screen surface, an air conduit having an intake opening communicating with the nozzle, an exhaust fan having an intake opening communicating with the air conduit discharge opening to draw lint containing air from the nozzle through the air conduit, and a drive mechanism for moving the nozzle lint inlet across the screen surface.

  • Patent number: 4222754
Abstract: A contaminated air stream from a textile operation which includes lint, short fibers, dust and other small particles is subjected to a progressive or multi-stage filter system, in which a first stage includes a rotary drum filter covered with a fine mesh screen covering which separates the lint and long fibers from the short fibers and dust which are carried on to a second stage. At the second stage filter, which is also a rotary drum filter but covered with a media type filter material, the short fibers are separated. The remaining dust and very small particles are passed on to a third stage, which is also a rotary drum filter covered with a media of even greater density than the second stage. Each of the rotary drum filters are provided with suction nozzles or other vacuum cleaning apparatus some of which are selectively moveable radially of the drum into close proximity to the surface of the filter for the purposes of periodic cleaning thereof and to a removed position in situations of non-cleaning.
