  • Patent number: 11173514
Abstract: A fluid dispenser for dispensing small doses of fluid includes a dispenser housing, a diaphragm assembly, a displacement chamber, and a dispensing luer. The dispenser housing has a first end for receiving the fluid and a second end for dispensing the fluid. The dispenser housing defines a fluid flow path from a receiving chamber adjacent the first end to a dispensing chamber adjacent the second end. The diaphragm assembly includes a first diaphragm within the receiving chamber and a second diaphragm within the dispensing chamber wherein the first diaphragm is operably connected to the second diaphragm. The diaphragm assembly is movable between a first position wherein the first diaphragm moves the fluid from the receiving chamber to the dispensing chamber along the fluid flow path and a second position wherein the second diaphragm moves the fluid from the dispensing chamber to the displacement chamber.

  • Publication number: 20190267110
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method for identifying candidate sequences for genotyping a genomic sample comprises obtaining a plurality of sequence reads mapping to a genomic region of interest. The plurality of sequence reads are assembled into a directed acyclic graph (DAG) comprising a plurality of branch sites representing variation present in the set of sequence reads, each branch site comprising two or more branches. A path through the DAG comprises a set of successive branches over two or more branch sites and represents a possible candidate sequence of the genomic sample. One or more paths through the DAG are ranked by calculating scores for one or more branch sites, wherein the calculated score comprises a number of sequence reads that span multiple branch sites in a given path. At least one path is selected as a candidate sequence based at least in part on its rank.

  • Publication number: 20070038321
Abstract: A method for simulating an industrial plant includes generating a library of industrial plant component types using user input. The library includes properties of the component types and rules to generate scripts in accordance with property values. The method further includes assembling a configuration of industrial plant components from the library using user input. The configuration is assembled into an editor configured to accept a layout and connection of the configuration of industrial plant components and to accept a configuration and setting of the properties of the industrial plant components. The method also includes generating a script or scripts for industrial plant components in the configuration of industrial plant in accordance with the rules, wherein the generated scripts include mathematical relationships within or among the industrial plant components, or both. The mathematical relationships are then solved. Results are either displayed or used to control an industrial plant.

  • Publication number: 20050164844
Abstract: The leg exercise device of the present invention is provided a base assembly for supporting an adjustable handle assembly and a footplate support assembly. The handle assembly has a pair of tubular support members secured at a lower end adjacent the center of the base assembly at an angle between 45 degrees and 90 degrees. The handle assembly also includes a U-shaped handle bar having a pair of arms that are telescopically received within the tubular support members, and locking for adjustably securing the handle bar to the tubular support members. A footplate support assembly is secured to the tubular support members for rotatably supporting two footplates for independent pivotal movement on an axis above the center of the base assembly.

  • Patent number: 6309159
Abstract: An elongate roof bolt includes a bolt body having an axially extending central bore and defining a leading end. The leading end includes a pair of axially extending abutment elements formed by machining. Each abutment element includes an abutment face for engagement with a drill tip on opposite sides thereof, to transmit rotary forces during drilling. The drill tip extends across the leading end of the bolt body and is bonded to the abutment elements by welding, soldering or brazing. The bore opens out of said bolt bonded adjacent said leading end.

  • Patent number: 5723600
Abstract: A method for treating cellulose with cellulose ester for use in various paper products involves reacting cellulose and an acid anhydride to form a cellulose ester-carboxylic acid solution. Acetic anhydride may be used as the acid anhydride, and a cellulose acetate-acetic acid solution may formed as the resulting cellulose ester-acetic acid solution. The cellulose acetate-acetic acid solution is diluted in a mixer, with additional acetic acid. Bulk cellulose is milled into cellulose fibers, and the diluted cellulose acetate-acetic acid solution diluted is combined with the cellulose fibers to achieve a treated fiber. Excess cellulose acetate-acetic acid solution is removed from the treated fiber and recycled to the mixer used in dilution. The treated fiber is water washed followed by removing water from the washed treated fiber. This product can then be used in paper making to produce a sheet for circuit boards, laminated products, and various paper products.
