Publication number: 20240140024Abstract: Methods of creating additive manufactured parts include selectively dispensing, in a shape area according to a layer of a part to be created by additive manufacturing, a second composition onto a top surface of a first composition in a vat, wherein a polymerization component is in the second composition. In some cases, polymerization components for formation of the layer are kept separate from each other until the dispensing. In some cases, a first polymerization component is in the first composition, and a second polymerization component is in the second composition. The top surface is illuminated to expose the first composition and the second composition to light having a polymerization wavelength, thereby causing polymerization of the layer of the part only in the shape area. The dispensing comprises customizing a reaction variable of the polymerization to customize reaction kinetics in different portions of the shape area.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 9, 2024Publication date: May 2, 2024Applicant: Intrepid Automation, Inc.Inventors: Ben Wynne, Shirley Lee, Jamie Lynn Etcheson, Christopher Sean Tanner, Robert Lee Mueller, Ivan Dejesus Chousal, James Michael Pingel

Publication number: 20240116247Abstract: An additive manufacturing system, and associated methods, comprise an image projection system comprising a plurality of image projectors that project a composite image onto a build area within a resin pool. The composite image comprises a plurality of sub-images arranged in an array. The properties of a sub-image and the alignment of the position of the sub image within the composite image can be adjusted using a set of filters comprising an irradiance mask that normalizes irradiance, and a gamma adjustment mask that adjusts sub-image energy based on a reactivity of the resin.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 20, 2023Publication date: April 11, 2024Applicant: Intrepid Automation, Inc.Inventors: Ben Wynne, Jamie Lynn Etcheson, Christopher Sean Tanner, Robert Lee Mueller, Ivan Dejesus Chousal

Patent number: 11906096Abstract: A thermal expansion compensating device has a conduit with a first opening and a second opening for connection to a first pipe and a second pipe of a hot water system, respectively, the first and second pipes being formed by removing a section from a length of pipe of the hot water system. A pre-tensioning force is applied to the device to axially displace the first opening from the second opening until after connection of the openings of the pipes. A resiliently deformable pipe segment defines a portion of the conduit between the first opening and the second opening and is resiliently deformed to a tensioned position by the application of the pre-tensioning force. Once the hot water system is activated, the pipes axially thermally expand such that the first opening moves towards the second opening and the pipe segment moves from the tensioned position towards a rest position decreasing the stress on the device.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 2021Date of Patent: February 20, 2024Assignee: IPEX TECHNOLOGIES INC.Inventors: Martin Kwan Yu Leung, Ivan Lee Stiehl

Patent number: 11460134Abstract: A connection to releasably connect and disconnect to a pipe to a fitting provides a pipe fitting body for receiving a pipe and a retaining ring located within the fitting body for retaining and releasing the pipe. The retaining ring has axially extending resilient retaining tabs, each of which has a radially inwardly extending portion for engaging the pipe, and, a radially outwardly extending portion which extends through corresponding radial openings in the fitting body. When the pipe is inserted into the fitting body to an inserted position and the retaining ring is in the first locked axial position, the radially inwardly extending portions engage and retain the pipe in the inserted position.Type: GrantFiled: October 20, 2020Date of Patent: October 4, 2022Assignee: IPEX TECHNOLOGIES INC.Inventors: Jis Simon, Filippo Martino, Ivan Lee Stiehl, James Bruce Anthony Campbell, Raymond George Puache, Paul Agapito, Qing Li
