Patent number: 11270593Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for optimization of an aircraft flight trajectory with shortcuts. The method comprises retrieving an active flight plan stored in a flight management system (FMS) and identifying a potential shortcut with a shortcut advisor tool. The FMS monitors the location of the aircraft with respect to an identified start point of the potential shortcut. Prior to the aircraft's arrival at the identified start point, current key performance indicators (KPI) of the shortcut are evaluated with the shortcut advisor tool. The aircrew is alerted to the potential shortcut along with a preview of the performance of the aircraft upon accepting the potential shortcut. The aircrew may accept the addition of the potential shortcut to the flight plan and request approval of the shortcut by air traffic control (ATC). The active flight plan is updated with the shortcut upon approval from the ATC.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 2019Date of Patent: March 8, 2022Assignee: Honeywell International Inc.Inventors: Karol Molnar, Eva Gelnarova, Kalimulla Khan, Srihari Jayathirtha, Raghu Shamasundar, Visakh S, Chavdar Kirov, Ivan Markov

Patent number: 8468491Abstract: Methods and systems for integrating process perspectives and abstraction levels into business process modeling are described. In one example embodiment, modeling business processes for an enterprise can include selecting a segmented view of an enterprise meta-model. The segmented view is associated with a business process to be modeled. The enterprise meta-model is a machine-readable representation of business rules and policies for the enterprise. A business process model is created using a set of visual modeling tools, which are limited by the segmented view. A business policy having some relevance to the process being modeled can be selected for annotation to the business process. Once completed, the business process model is transformed into a machine-readable representation and stored in a repository.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 2009Date of Patent: June 18, 2013Assignee: SAP AGInventor: Ivan Markovic

Publication number: 20090083110Abstract: Various embodiments described herein provide one or more of systems, methods, and software for formal modeling of business processes. Some embodiments provide a formal model for business processes that allows for expressive querying and reasoning over process models. Some such models provide mechanisms for rich descriptions of processes from different workflow perspectives that may allow automated process verification, simulation, execution, and querying in the process space. Some embodiments include receiving a mapping of at least a portion of a process and determining an order of tasks of the process as a function of ?-calculus formulas associated with each type of the tasks of the process map. The ordered tasks may then be translated into a process modeling language representation of the at least a portion of the process.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 21, 2007Publication date: March 26, 2009Inventors: Ivan Markovic, Alessandro Costa Pereira

Patent number: 7047490Abstract: A method of depicting a hard copy document, in which a user generates an electronic document and then selects an instruction for assembling a hard copy document. The visual appearance of the electronic document once printed and assembled in accordance with the instruction is determined in the computer, and this visual appearance is produced as output. For example, the visual appearance of the electronic document may depict a printing media used in the hard copy document, such as the weight, color, texture, or transparency of the printing media, a preexisting image on the printing media, a cover to be used in the hard copy document, a binding to be used in the hard copy document, such as a velo tape, spiral, multi-ring, comb, magazine style, or stapling binding, or a physical modification of a printing media used in the hard copy document, such hole punching, folding or cutting.Type: GrantFiled: November 26, 1997Date of Patent: May 16, 2006Assignee: Adobe Systems IncorporatedInventors: Ivan Markovic, Ivor Durham
