  • Patent number: 11454636
Abstract: A prediction of type 2 diabetes development through quantitative analysis of N-glycans attached to the plasma proteins of a healthy person, which enables determination of whether the investigated person belongs to a risk group for type 2 diabetes development in the future. Using obtained quantitative percentages of all analyzed N-glycans as input variables of a model F: F(GP1, GP2, . . . , GPX; D, S), where X, D and S are parameters of the model F: X=total number of analyzed N-glycans; D=age of the investigated person; S=sex of the investigated person; male=1, female=0. Obtaining constants of the model F (GP1, GP2, . . . , GPX; D, S) by statistical data processing and modelling from analyzed population. Comparing obtained result F for the investigated person with a statistically determined threshold T, which defines the threshold of increased risk for type 2 diabetes (T2D) development in the future.

  • Patent number: 11456326
Abstract: A plenoptic camera for mobile devices is provided, having a main lens, a microlens array, an image sensor, and a first reflective element configured to reflect the light rays captured by the plenoptic camera before arriving at the image sensor, in order to fold the optical path of the light captured by the camera before impinging the image sensor. Additional reflective elements may also be used to further fold the light path inside the camera. The reflective elements can be prisms, mirrors or reflective surfaces of three-sided optical elements having two refractive surfaces that form a lens element of the main lens. By equipping mobile devices with this plenoptic camera, the focal length can be greatly increased while maintaining the thickness of the mobile device under current constraints.

  • Publication number: 20220300082
Abstract: Techniques of identifying gestures include detecting and classifying inner-wrist muscle motions at a user's wrist using micron-resolution radar sensors. For example, a user of an AR system may wear a band around their wrist. When the user makes a gesture to manipulate a virtual object in the AR system as seen in a head-mounted display (HMD), muscles and ligaments in the user's wrist make small movements on the order of 1-3 mm. The band contains a small radar device that has a transmitter and a number of receivers (e.g., three) of electromagnetic (EM) radiation on a chip (e.g., a Soli chip. This radiation reflects off the wrist muscles and ligaments and is received by the receivers on the chip in the band. The received reflected signal, or signal samples, are then sent to processing circuitry for classification to identify the wrist movement as a gesture.

  • Publication number: 20220300386
Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for disaster resilience of applications managed by Kubernetes operators. An embodiment operates by creating an orchestration and worker cluster, where the worker cluster is coupled to the orchestration cluster by a proxy server. Custom resources are deployed to the orchestration cluster and custom resource controllers are deployed to the worker cluster. The proxy server federates these custom resources between the orchestration cluster and the worker cluster. During disasters, the worker cluster is recreated and reconciled to prevent loss of the federated cluster.

  • Publication number: 20220296830
Abstract: Medical gas or airborne contaminants can be evacuated from a vicinity of a face of a patient using an intake duct defining an intake opening at a single intake location. The single intake opening is supported offset to one side of a face of the patient and an exhaust flow is applied at a flow rate of greater than 200 cubic feet per minute such that a single flow is drawn across the face of the user and into the intake duct. By drawing from only one side of the face of the patient with the prescribed flow rate, the velocity of gases and airborne contaminants flowing towards the intake duct can exceed the forward momentum of gases and/or contaminants expelled by the patient so as to capture substantially all medical gases and/or contaminants in the vicinity of the face of the patient.

  • Publication number: 20220303773
Abstract: Methods and systems are described for generating and utilizing a pattern of association. The pattern of association can comprise information that indicates to which of a plurality of network devices one or more mobile devices are likely to connect. The pattern of association can comprise information that indicates an order of association. The pattern of association can be associated with one or more factors which can be any information that provides insight into the pattern of association. The pattern of association can be used to identify a next network device that a mobile device will transition to, based on which network device the mobile device is currently connected to. Data, such as authentication information, can be pushed to the identified next network device to reduce network connectivity issues that may occur by transitioning between network devices.
