    Abstract: The invention is directed to a pinless connector having two interconnecting halves. Each half has an embedded communications device designed to receive and transmit signals via an infrared communications protocol. The connectors are designed to withstand extreme environmental conditions, and alleviate the need for frequent connector replacement due to damaged or broken pins cause by frequent disconnection and reconnection and, thus, facilitate the fast removal of weapon replaceable assemblies.
