  • Publication number: 20240104932
Abstract: Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media can access a plurality of parameter-based encodings providing a structured representation of an environment captured by one or more sensors associated with a plurality of vehicles traveling through the environment. A given parameter-based encoding of the environment identifies one or more agents that were detected by a vehicle within the environment and respective location information for the one or more agents within the environment. The plurality of parameter-based encodings can be clustered into one or more clusters of parameter-based encodings. At least one scenario associated with the environment can be determined based at least in part on the one or more clusters of parameter-based encodings.

  • Publication number: 20130325839
Abstract: A global single search system that returns relevant search results for a user search query by identifying user intent and context implied therein. The system supports POI and address searches initiated from a single search box global only. Search query data is input in a single search box on a single search client to initiate a search for an arbitrary piece of data. Meta-data concerning a nature of a search is not provided to the single search system. A search servlet uses an ordered series of filter methods to extract specific aspects of user intent from a freeform search query, and accumulate intent information within a context shared by all filters. The system determines a data corpus to search based on context provided in a user search query. Relevant search results are returned to the single search client in a search response. The global single search system supports global markets.

  • Publication number: 20080278606
Abstract: A method and apparatus for image compositing in an apparatus a device in which available memory is at a premium are disclosed. The apparatus includes a first memory that receives a video input signal, in multiple portions. The first memory has a storage capacity less than the entire video image. Data within the first memory is encoded to form encoded video image portions. The entire image is thus encoded, video image portion by video image portion. A second image is combined with image portions in the first memory prior encoding such video image portions. The apparatus may, for example, be an electronic component or components forming a video or image processing pipeline, used in a portable device.

  • Publication number: 20070168722
Abstract: A processing unit of a system detects a fault condition associated with the co-processing unit and, upon detection, restores the processing unit using stored user context information. During normal operation, user context information used to execute operation commands are stored by the co-processing unit in memory and maintained after fault detection. A fault condition is detected when at least a portion of the processing unit is rendered non-operational due to a discharging electrostatic event. Fault conditions may be detected by receiving information by the co-processing unit indicative of a fault condition, or by checking at least one memory location associated with processing unit to determine if information stored therein indicates a fault condition. The co-processing unit returns the processing unit to a known, workable state by using the stored user context information to restore the pre-fault detection state information to the memory locations associated with the processing unit.

  • Publication number: 20060026627
Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling display of content signals begins by receiving a content signal that includes video content and at least one associated content control indicator. The content signal may also include audio content associated with the video content. The processing continues by comparing the at least one associated content control indicator (e.g., a rating of mature subject matter of the content signal) with at least one content control setting (e.g., a parental setting based on allowable viewing of rated content signals). When the associated content indicator compares unfavorably to the content control setting, a video graphics processor scrambles the at least a portion of the video content. The scrambled video content is then provided to a video rendering device for subsequent display.

  • Publication number: 20040141106
Abstract: A reflective liquid crystal display, having a liquid crystal display panel and a regional light source. The liquid crystal display panel has a plurality of pixels, and each of the pixels has a plurality of corresponding color blocks. The regional light source is directly incident on the liquid crystal display panel, such that the light generated thereby is impinging on a reflection layer of the liquid crystal display panel to cause reflection. The allocation of the regional light source includes scattered dots distributed over the color blocks corresponding to the liquid crystal display panel. Alternatively, the regional light source is allocated at an edge of each of the color blocks, or with an arrangement allowing the light to be incident uniformly.

  • Patent number: 6760087
Abstract: A multi-domain vertical alignment liquid crystal display, having a substrate with a color filter, a liquid crystal layer and a thin-film transistor array substrate. The thin-film transistor array substrate has an array of thin-film transistors and pixel electrodes. The pixel electrodes have a plurality of protrusions and slits, and a dielectric layer with a planarized surface covering the pixel electrodes. Therefore, the dielectric layer on the protrusion is thinner. Or alternatively, the protrusions are exposed. The exposed protrusions being alternately arranged with the slits and the dielectric layer result in a planarization effect, and have the function of twisting the electric field generated by the pixel electrodes. The liquid crystal molecules are thus inclined towards different directions to divide the liquid crystal layer of the same pixel electrode into multi-domains.
