Abstract: A protective sports helmet includes a cap structure having a plurality of structurally independent cap portions and mutually connected to flexible interconnecting members such that the helmet has at least one overall configuration of minimum dimensions when not worn, with the parts of the cap mutually adjacent to each other, separate from an operating condition having maximum dimensions when worn. The parts of the cap are held together by interconnecting members in positions at a suitable distance from each other configured to enclose a user's head. The portions include corresponding sections each extending continuously between the frontal and occipital extremities, of longitudinal extent between those extremities which predominates in comparison with their transverse extent, the sections extending substantially parallel and at a distance from each other so that in the configuration having the minimum dimensions adjacent sections abut each other along lateral sides which transversely bound each section.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a metal frame for spectacles with a front frame, a pair of lens-carrying eyepieces of metal wire and a central bridge for support on the nose, is described, the bridge being obtained in a single piece, by bending a wire of metal material, and having a pair of corresponding lengths of wire which are capable of being attached to corresponding lens-carrying eyepieces, a recess being provided by milling on each of the lengths, each recess having at least a partial interference fit with a respective surface portion of the metal wire of the corresponding lens-carrying eyepieces, each of the lengths being welded to the corresponding portion of lens-carrying eyepieces at the location of the respective recess to attach each lens-carrying eyepiece to the central bridge.

Abstract: A hinge device for the connection of side-pieces to the front of mounts for spectacles, comprises a first and a second hinge element articulated about a hinge axis, the first element comprising a body configured substantially in the form of a fork with a pair of opposed arms the ends of which comprise a pin element capable of rotatable engagement in a seat provided in the second hinge element. In each of the ends of the arms a respective discoid body is provided, each discoid body being structurally independent of the corresponding arm and firmly securable thereto, the discoid bodies being mounted in a position facing each other and also coaxial with the hinge axis, and the seat is in the form of a cylindrical slot capable of receiving in rotatable engagement the cylindrical surfaces of the discoid bodies.
