  • Patent number: 11346236
Abstract: A guide vane for a variable turbine geometry and a turbine assembly provided with same are described. The guide vane has an outer face that is at least partly concave in design. The inner face opposite the outer face may also be at least partly concave in design. This gives the guide vane a good functional capability when arranged in a vane ring of a turbine, since an overflow through the gap between the guide vane and the neighboring walls is reduced.

  • Patent number: 11002154
Abstract: Example embodiments relate to a turbocharger for a combustion machine, having a bearing housing, in which a rotor shaft is mounted so as to be rotatable about a rotor axis of rotation. An exhaust-gas turbine with a turbine wheel is arranged rotationally conjointly on the rotor shaft and which has an impeller blade arrangement with multiple turbine blades, and with a turbine housing is mechanically fixed to the bearing housing and which surrounds the turbine wheel With respect to a meridional view of the exhaust-gas turbine, the turbine housing and the turbine wheel are designed and adapted to one another such that the following condition is satisfied: L cover L axTip > 1 - Tip clr R in × 3 ? ? 4 × 1 ( 1 - R out R in ) .

  • Patent number: 10808569
Abstract: An exhaust gas turbocharger has a turbine with a turbine wheel. The turbine wheel is axially mounted in a turbine housing and has turbine blades, each with a leading edge for a flow of media. An adjustable guide grate with a plurality of stator vanes adjusts a flow cross-section relative to the leading edge of the turbine wheel. Each stator vane has a vane rear edge facing the turbine wheel. A plane is defined by a rotational axis of the turbine wheel and at least one point on the leading edge, wherein a projection of the leading edge onto the plane is axially inclined relative to the rotational axis of the turbine wheel at least in one region, and the stator vanes are arranged radially about the turbine wheel at least in the region.

  • Patent number: 10253633
Abstract: A rotor of an exhaust-gas turbocharger includes a rotor hub and rotor blades disposed on the rotor hub. The rotor blades have a blade thickness distribution selected in such a way that the rotor blades have along their extent from a fluid inlet or leading edge to a fluid outlet or trailing edge at least one transition between a stiffness or rigidity-oriented blade thickness distribution and an inertia and stress-oriented blade thickness distribution over the height of the blade.

  • Patent number: 10190415
Abstract: A turbocharger has a shaft with a rotational axis, a radial/axial turbine wheel which is arranged in a turbine housing and which is connected to the shaft in a non-rotatable manner, and a bearing housing which adjoins the turbine housing and which contains a lateral wall facing the turbine housing. A sub-region of the lateral wall of the bearing housing forms a sub-region of the rear wall of the turbine housing. The sub-region of the bearing housing has two sub-sections, one of which runs diagonally to the rotational axis in an inflow direction of an exhaust gas flow conducted into the turbine housing and the second of which runs in a radial direction relative to the rotational axis of the shaft and parallel to the rear wall of the turbine wheel. The two sub-sections are connected to each other via an exhaust gas flow separation edge of the bearing housing.
