  • Publication number: 20230420123
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to control units for an extracorporeal circulatory support as well as systems comprising such a control unit and corresponding methods. Accordingly, a control unit for an extracorporeal circulatory support is suggested, which is configured to receive a measurement of an ECG signal of a supported patient over a predefined period of time, wherein the ECG signal comprises multiple data points for each time point within a cardiac cycle. The control unit comprises an evaluation unit, which is configured to evaluate the data points for at least one time point spatially and/or temporally and to determine at least one amplitude change within the cardiac cycle from the evaluated data points. The control unit is further configured to output a control signal for an extracorporeal circulatory support at a predefined time point after the at least one amplitude change.

  • Publication number: 20220313889
Abstract: The present disclosure pertains to control units for non-occlusive blood pumps of an extracorporeal circulatory support as well as systems comprising such a control unit and corresponding methods. Accordingly, a control unit for a non-occlusive blood pump of an extracorporeal circulatory support is configured to receive a flow value of the extracorporeal circulatory support, to receive a measurement of an arterial pressure and an ECG signal of a supported patient over a predetermined period of time, to determine a mean arterial pressure of the extracorporeal circulatory support or of the supported patient from the measurement of the arterial pressure and an energy equivalent pressure from the flow value and the arterial pressure.

  • Publication number: 20220016410
Abstract: An extracorporeal cardiac assistance system, comprising a pump being configured to create a fluid flow from a suction line to a pressure line of the system; further comprising a control device configured to control the pump and/or an adjustable flow limiter to provide an adjustable flow rate and/or a pressure, wherein the control device is configured to execute a support mode with a plurality of consecutive support flow rate pulses and/or support pressure pulses interposed on the fluid flow and to execute a weaning mode with a plurality of such pulses, wherein an amount of energy provided to the fluid flow with each pulse is lower in the weaning mode than in the support mode.
