  • Patent number: 12560039
Abstract: A method for deploying a tool in a well on an electrical cable comprises attaching a cable suspension and recovery device to the cable at a position chosen such that the device is disposed below a wellhead at an upper end of the well when the tool is disposed at a selected depth in the well. The device has a diameter larger than a landing profile disposed in the well, the device having a diameter enabling free movement through the well and flow of fluid around the device in the well. The tool is attached to an end of the cable. The tool is deployed in the well by extending the cable.

  • Patent number: 11965390
Abstract: Master valve and cable hanger system for deploying and making electrical connection to an electric submersible pump. A landing for the cable hanger (50) is in the through bore below the valve closure element. The landing has a seal area and a bore transverse to the through bore penetrating into the seal area for allowing electric connection to the pump. The cable hanger has a seal section having longitudinally spaced apart seals engageable with an interior of the seal area, electrical contacts disposed between the seals, and a lockdown profile. Flow ports are arranged to bypass seal area and seal section. A blanking plug (58) is disposed in the transverse bore to seal the seal area prior to insertion of the cable hanger.

  • Publication number: 20230203910
Abstract: A method for installing an electric submersible pump (ESP) in a well includes installing a plug in the well below a well tree. An upper and lower master valve on the tree are closed. Closure elements are removed from the lower master valve and replaced with gate seats, and a replacement gate block. The replacement gate block has a seat for a cable hanger. The upper master valve is opened. The plug is removed and the ESP extended into the well on an electrical cable. A cable hanger is affixed to the cable and is seated in the seat. The cable hanger has sealing elements to engage the seat and an electrical connector. The electrical connector is oriented to enable access through a side opening in the replacement gate block.

  • Patent number: 10774826
Abstract: An inline monitoring package for a submersible pumping system includes a housing having a first end for connection to a motor, a pump or a seal section of the pumping system, and a second end for connection to the motor, the pump or the seal section. The housing is disposed between any two of the pump, the motor and the seal section. A shaft transmits rotation from the motor to the pump. The housing comprises a chassis having a through bore and an end plug at each longitudinal end. The through bore has a diameter selected to enable free passage of the shaft and fluid associated with the shaft. The end plugs sealingly engage an interior wall of the housing so as to define a sealed chamber inside the housing and external to the chassis between the end plugs. At least one electronic component is disposed in the sealed chamber.
