  • Patent number: 5001412
Abstract: A dual purpose alternator starter for an automotive vehicle designed to be positioned between the engine and transmission. In place of the ring gear in a conventional drive train assembly, a pair of off set magnetically permeable discs are bolted to the power shaft. These discs form an annular channel between them. A plurality of rare earth permanent magnets are mounted on the inside face of one of the discs in the channel. On the opposite side of this disc, a set of ring shaped switch contact members are mounted. Positioned stationary to the engine and within the channel is a stationary ironless stator assembly having flat copper windings embedded in an insulation matrix. These windings alternately pass from the perimeter of the disc towards the interior of the disc as each winding forms a single pass around the ring shaped disc.

  • Patent number: 4006724
Abstract: An electronic engine control system for an internal combustion engine has at least a portion of its circuitry mounted on circuit boards which are disposed generally in the path of induction air drawn into the engine via the engine air filter housing. The circuit boards are mounted within a molded plastic circuit board mounting housing which is disposed over openings in the sidewall of the sheet metal air filter housing and which is removably mounted thereon by means of attaching screws. An inlet snorkel via which induction air is drawn into the air filter housing is a molded plastic element secured to the circuit board mounting housing with the circuit board mounting housing being disposed between the snorkel and the air filter housing.

  • Patent number: 3935851
Abstract: A fuel metering system controlling the mass fuel-air ratio in a spark ignition engine in response to fuel and air volume measurements. Linear responsive transducers respond to various temperatures, pressures, throttle positioning, fuel flow, air flow and engine operation for correcting the volume flow measurements of both fuel and air to mass flow measurements. A positive displacement, dual action pump delivers fuel to the throttle body of the engine in response to the mass of the air entering into the throttle body.
