  • Patent number: 6366084
Abstract: In a magnetic sensor having soft magnetic metallic elements disposed in opposite sides of a bridge circuit for sensing an external magnetic field by using a phenomenon where a skin depth of the soft magnetic metallic elements changes in dependence on a strength of the external magnetic field, each of the soft magnetic metallic elements is formed in a zigzag shape having parallel sections extending in a direction of the external magnetic field. The soft magnetic metallic element may have a multi-layer structure where soft magnetic layers are laminated with a non-magnetic insulator layer interposed therebetween.

  • Patent number: 5471355
Abstract: A magnetic head comprises a head base (56), and a pair of magnetic head chips (57, 58) of different azimuth angles (.theta..sub.1, .theta..sub.2) disposed on the head base (56). The pair of magnetic head chips (57, 58) are disposed in a stepped arrangement with respect to the direction of arrangement of tracks on a magnetic recording medium with a step (DA) substantially equal to the pitch (P) of tracks on the magnetic recording medium. The gap distance (GL) between the magnetic gaps of the magnetic head chips (57, 58) is shorter than the sum of the step (D) between adjacent tracks and the length (L) of interblock gap regions between video signal regions and audio signal regions arranged along the direction of the movement of the magnetic head. The magnetic head permits satisfactory audio signal after-recording and extended recording and reproducing of digital video signals on the magnetic recording medium even if the magnetic recording medium is a narrow magnetic tape of 8 mm or less in width.

  • Patent number: 5296992
Abstract: Thin film type magnetic transducer head is disclosed in which a track width recorded on a magnetic recording medium is determined by a thickness of thin film magnetic core halves formed on a non-magnetic substrate. The head has a rear core portion having a larger thickness than the track width forming portion of the head facing to the travelling magnetic recording medium, and a coil wound around the rear core portion. The coil comprises first coil portions underlying the rear core portion and second coil portions overlying the rear core portion and third coil portions connecting the first and the second core portions. The head is manufactured by thin film forming technique in combination with photolithography.

  • Patent number: 4901178
Abstract: A thin film magnetic head whereby the inclined surface is formed with a prescribed angle relative to the upper surface of the substrate in the vicinity of a slide contact surface thereof with a magnetic recording medium, the magnetic gap is formed on the magnetic film on the inclined surface, and the azimuth of the magnetic gap is set by the inclined surface.By forming grooves or protrusions on the substrate, the inclined surface by which the azimuth of the magnetic gap is set is defined. A coil conductor is formed on the flat portion of the upper surface of the substrate. With the thin film magnetic head presented by this invention, a double azimuth thin film magnetic head of a multi-channel thin film magnetic head can be easily provided.

  • Patent number: 4673999
Abstract: A multi channel magnetic transducer head comprises a magnetic substrate, and a plurality of thin film type magnetic transducer head elements arranged on the magnetic substrate, each magnetic transducer head element including a coil conductor disposed on the magnetic substrate and a thin film magnetic core to constitute a magnetic circuit in co-operation with the substrate, wherein a non-magnetic gap spacer layer with a predetermined thickness is formed at track width portion below front end of the thin film magnetic core on the magnetic core, a non-magnetic layer with thickness larger than that of the gap spacer layer is formed at track spacing portion, the thin film magnetic core has width covering at least the gap spacer layer of the track width portion, thereby good magnetic recording can be performed.

  • Patent number: 4629606
Abstract: The present invention provides a process for recovering a tungsten compound from a waste liquor containing a high-boiling organic compound and the tungsten compound, which process comprises the steps of spray-burning said waste liquor at an air ratio of 1.05 or higher under conditions of a temperature and a residence time which lie within the region of a pentagon defined by points A, B, C, D, and E in FIG. 1; quenching the combustion product by immediately bringing it into direct contact with water; and recovering the tungsten compound.
