Patent number: 5158240Abstract: A pulverizer has a shell having an inlet port for introducing air and the material to be pulverized into the shell and a discharge port through which the pulverized product is discharged from the shell. The shell is filled with a pulverizing medium such as steel balls. A vertical screw shaft having a screw blade thereon is rotatably mounted in the shell. The screw shaft is hollow and provided at the bottom end thereof with an outlet port. The outlet port is located behind the screw blade with respect to the direction of rotation of the screw shaft. A fluid supply box is provided at the bottom of the screw shaft and extends from the screw shaft to the outer edge of the screw blade. The outlet port is formed in the fluid supply box. A scrape plate protrudes downwards from the bottom end of the screw shaft. Three or more screw blades may be provided.Type: GrantFiled: July 22, 1991Date of Patent: October 27, 1992Assignee: Kubota CorporationInventors: Yoshitaka Ihara, Hidemasa Ishikawa, Iwao Ikebuchi, Hisashi Takei, Shigetoshi Kawabata

Patent number: 5114083Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for pulverizing a material to produce a fine powdery material such as silica powder as a material for a filler for sealing semiconductors. It has a shell and a screw shaft mounted in the shell. A disk having an inverted conical bottom surface is coaxially secured to the bottom of the screw shaft. The disk serves to protect the blade of the screw shaft from wear. Also owing to the inverted conical bottom surface, a centripetal force acts on the screw shaft while in rotation, thus preventing it from running out of true. By providing a plurality of screw shafts in the shell, the fluid in the shell flows in a complicated manner, thus increasing the pulverizing efficiency. A partitioning plate formed with a hole in the upper or lower part thereof may be provided between the adjacent screw shafts to minimize the possibility of shortcircuiting of the material from the inlet of the shell to its outlet.Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 1990Date of Patent: May 19, 1992Assignee: Kubota, Ltd.Inventors: Iwao Ikebuchi, Yoshitaka Ihara, Hisashi Takei, Syozo Yamada, Mamoru Nakano, Akira Ganse

Patent number: 5042729Abstract: This invention relates to an apparatus for pulverizing quick lime into a slurry form. It has a vertical shell and a rotary shaft mounted in the shell. An agitating layer and a pulverizing layer are formed in the shell at its upper and lower portions, respectively. The material fed from top of the shell is agitated and melted into smaller particles in the agitating layer and then pulverized into fine particles in the pulverizing layer. The fine particles are discharged from a top or middle of the shell. A discharge pipe is provided so as to extend upwardly from the discharge port at the middle of the shell. An agitator may be provided in the discharge pipe. The material to be pulverized is prevented from going from the inlet directly to the outlet without passing through the pulverizing layer.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 1990Date of Patent: August 27, 1991Assignee: Kubota, Ltd.Inventors: Yoshitaka Ihara, Akira Ganse, Haruhiko Oyanagi, Iwao Ikebuchi

Patent number: 4905915Abstract: A method and apparatus for pulverizing a material such as sand to a desired particle size. The apparatus has a pulverizing shell in which the material to be pulverized is fed and pulverized. The pulverized fluid-carried material overflows the shell so as to be fed into a settling classifier, where the coarser material settles and is discharged through its bottom opening back into the shell for repulverization. The finer material overflows the classifier and is fed to an intermediate bin, which has its bottom connected to the shell through a valve. When the bin is filled up with the material, the valve is opened so that the material in the bin is returned to the shell. The material is thus circulated through the shell, classifier and intermediate bin. The shell is adapted to be alternately connected to the intermediate bin and a product collector bin by a changeover valve.Type: GrantFiled: January 27, 1989Date of Patent: March 6, 1990Assignee: Kubota, Ltd.Inventors: Iwao Ikebuchi, Yoshitaka Ihara, Akira Ganse, Tomio Kaneyasu

Patent number: 4872973Abstract: In a cyclone classifier wherein the material to be processed is swirled in a tubular casing having a conical lower portion and classified, a cylindrical body is provided in the casing, so as to surround the lower end of a fluid outlet pipe and extends downwardly below an inlet port for the material to be processed, so that the sectional area of passage for the material to be processed swirled in the casing will be made smaller, thus increasing the classifying point while keeping the pressure loss at a minimum. From another aspect, annular pipes formed with fluid inlet ports are provided around the outer periphery of a lower part of the casing so as to communicate with the casing so that gases or liquids will be blown into the lower part of the casing through these pipes to form a swirling current, thus allowing the material to be processed to be reclassified thereby increasing the classifying point.Type: GrantFiled: February 23, 1989Date of Patent: October 10, 1989Assignee: Kubota Ltd.Inventors: Iwao Ikebuchi, Mamoru Nakano, Kazuo Fuse, Akira Ganze

Patent number: 4754934Abstract: An improved vertical grinding mill is proposed which comprises a shell, a vertical screw shaft rotatably mounted in the shell, a classifying means, a drive for the screw shaft, and means for forming a current of fluid for taking fine particles out of the shell. The inlet for the fluid is provided in the center of the bottom of the shell directly under the screw shaft. The fluid is uniformly distributed in all directions, carrying up the pulverized fine particles.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 1987Date of Patent: July 5, 1988Assignee: Kubota, Ltd.Inventors: Iwao Ikebuchi, Mamoru Nakano

Patent number: 4660776Abstract: An improved vertical grinding mill is provided which has a shell, a vertical helically bladed shaft rotatably mounted in the shell, a collector, a drive for the shaft, and a fan or a pump. The shaft is hollow and its lower end is open at the bottom of the shell. This assures a uniform distribution of the material to be treated, the grinding medium and the product particles and thus high production efficiency.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 1985Date of Patent: April 28, 1987Assignee: Kubota Ltd.Inventors: Iwao Ikebuchi, Kazuo Fuse, Akira Ganse
