  • Patent number: 11564231
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Wireless communications systems may support implementation of narrow bandwidth parts (NBWPs). For example, a NBWP may be established over a reduced bandwidth to support user equipment (UEs) with reduced complexity features (e.g., such as UEs with reduced bandwidth capabilities). Wireless communications systems may provide for UE transitioning to a NBWP (e.g., after initial cell search), as well as for UE transitioning amongst NBWPs (e.g., subsequent transitions to other NBWPs after an initial transition to a NBWP after initial cell search). For example, a UE may initially transition to a NBWP (e.g., transition to monitor the NBWP for reference signals or to utilize the NBWP for uplink/downlink communications) to support reduced bandwidth capabilities of the UE. Subsequently, the UE may transition amongst other NBWPs for network load balancing, UE frequency hopping gain, etc.

  • Patent number: 11546890
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Devices in a wireless communications system may support different configurations to support intra-symbol multiplexing for communications between the devices using a single carrier waveform. For example, the different configurations may include symbol level cyclic prefixes, device-specific or channel-specific cyclic prefixes, device-specific or channel-specific guard intervals, or a combination thereof to support the intra-symbol multiplexing. That is, the cyclic prefixes or guard intervals may separate different fractions of a symbol, such that individual signals communicated in each of the different fractions do not leak into a subsequent fraction to cause interference. In some implementations, the cyclic prefixes or guard intervals may be enabled for a subset of devices or channels.

  • Patent number: 11546052
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for managing beam configurations and parameters for non-terrestrial networks. In some implementations, a UE may detect a synchronization signal block (SSB) transmitted by a satellite via a first beam. Aspects of the present disclosure recognize that each beam may be identified by a unique SSB index based at least in part on a time or frequency on which the SSB is received. Thus, the SSB may be identified based on a frequency-domain SSB index or a time-domain SSB index. The UE may further determine one or more wireless communication parameters associated with the first beam. The UE may generate a mapping between the SSB and the wireless communication parameters associated with the first beam, and thereafter communicate with the satellite using the mapping.
