Abstract: An apparatus for eliminating excreted urine so as to keep a person dry without the person having to actively or consciously participate in the process. The apparatus may be part of a diaper or similar article of clothing or may be a device used in such clothing. The apparatus has a plurality of receiving tubes for receiving the urine, a central collecting tube and/or similar collecting and holding facility associated with the receiving tubes for receiving, collecting and at least temporarily holding the urine, and a vacuum source for suctioning the urine into the receiving tubes. A sensor detects urine released by the person and activates the vacuum source which pulls the urine into the receiving tubes. The central collecting tube may be routed directly or indirectly to a drain for disposing of the collected urine.
