Abstract: A device is provided that generates the gestures and expressions of a human image on a computer without expending a great amount of labor. The words for the system response to the input of a user and the state of the dialogue are described in a dialogue flow memory unit, a dialogue flow analysis unit analyzes the spoken text of the flow, extracts the key words associated with a movement pattern by referring to a text movement association table, and the movement expression generation unit generates the movements corresponding to the movement pattern. In the generation of the movement, movement patterns determined in advance are selected according to the state of the dialogue written in the dialogue flow, and the movement pattern is determined or modified by the key words.

Abstract: A feeling generation apparatus for accompanying a reaction and an information proposal of a computer with an agent's feeling. A taste level is assigned to the proposal item. An agent's self-confident degree is calculated for the proposal item. Keywords representing user's response and feeling are extracted from user's input in order to guess user's response and feeling. Agent's feeling is determined according to the agent's self-confident degree, the user's response and feeling. According to the agent's feeling, a reaction sentence and CG animation are generated.

Abstract: In a feeling generation apparatus for accompanying a reaction and an information proposal of a computer with an agent's feeling, a proposal item retrieving part assigns, with reference to a user's taste model, a taste level to said proposal item. With reference to an agent's self-confident degree model describing correspondences between taste's levels for the proposal item and agent's self-confident degrees for proposal, a self-confident degree calculating part calculates an agent's self-confident degree for said proposal item. With reference to the agent's feeling model describing correspondences among the agent's self-confident degrees, user's responses, and agent's feelings, a feeling generating part determines the agent's feeling. In accordance with the determined agent feeling, an output data generating part generates a proposal sentence for proposing the proposal item and data for an operation and an expression of a computer graphics (CG) character.
