Patent number: 11119638Abstract: An orientation of an application user interface (e.g., text and/or content) on a display of a device may be determined by an orientation of the device relative to gravity. In situations where the orientation of the device relative to gravity does not provide a confident or accurate orientation for the application user interface, orientation of the application user interface may be determined from face orientation data. Face orientation data may be obtained from a face detection process operating on images of the user captured during a facial recognition process or during an attention detection process.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2019Date of Patent: September 14, 2021Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Kelsey Y. Patent number: 5950200Abstract: A method and apparatus for automating the process of confidentially determining whether people feel mutual attraction or have mutual interests and for automating the process of notifying the people involved of such a match in feelings or interests, while allowing anonymity if no mutual attraction or interests exist. A computer system receives inputs from various persons indicating the identities of persons for whom they feel attraction or with whom they share mutual interests. The system collects this information and periodically searches for matches, i.e., for mutual attractions or interests that have been entered into the system. No notification occurs unless the system determines that a match in attraction or interests exists. If a first person's feelings or interests are not mirrored by a second person, the system will not notify either person and only the computer system will be aware of the first person's feelings for the second person.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 1997Date of Patent: September 7, 1999Assignees: Gil S. Patent number: 5532630Abstract: A bidirectional input/output buffer is disclosed, where the receiver includes complementary bus keeper transistors. The keeper transistors are of opposite conductivity types, and have their gates coupled to the output of a receiver inverter. The keeper transistors thus reinforce the driven data state at the input of the receiver, in CMOS latch fashion, and hold the prior data state thereon after the driving output driver is in tristate. The keeper transistors have significantly weaker drive characteristics than the other receiver transistors, and than typical output drivers, so that the keeper transistors can be easily overdriven with the next data state, if different. In addition, the source/drain resistance of the keeper transistors is also preferably quite high, so that the power dissipation on switching is relatively low. These characteristics are readily achievable by providing relatively long channel lengths for the keeper transistors, relative to other transistors in the circuit.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 1994Date of Patent: July 2, 1996Assignee: SGS-Thomson Microelectronics, Inc.Inventors: Charles D. Patent number: 4521700Abstract: Disclosed is the addition of passive feedback to a prior art T.sup.2 L circuit. The T.sup.2 L circuit with feedback, in accordance with the invention, has a lower power dissipation while retaining noise immunity and small gate delay. The additional resistor required for the feedback T.sup.2 L circuit, in accordance with the invention, can be incorporated into the T.sup.2 L cell without increasing the cell size. The feedback T.sup.2 L circuit, in accordance with the invention, lends itself to the addition of an integrated direct-coupled inverter (DCI) function. The feedback T.sup.2 L circuit, in accordance with the invention, permits more function to be placed on an integrated circuit semiconductor chip while maintaining gate performance and adherence to power restrictions.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 1982Date of Patent: June 4, 1985Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Richard J.
