    Abstract: A scalpel particularly useful in dental restoration has a flattened handle of ovoidal shape having a cusp blade mounted at one end thereof. The blade is preferably positioned on the handle so that it extends away from the handle at acute angles to an imaginary horizontal plane, an imaginary longitudinal vertical plane and an imaginary transverse vertical plane.
