Abstract: This invention comprises improved collets which can be used and reused without adjustment or re-truing by the use of truncated spherical and tangential mating surfaces, elliptical mating elements, dowel and keyway alignment means, tension and travel limiting means to prevent binding and over expansion or contraction of collet head elements, and the like to achieve true fitting and secure adjustment of collets and their mating and interacting parts.
