  • Patent number: 11157861
Abstract: Various embodiments of the present invention are directed to a mapping management computer system. According to various embodiments, the mapping management computer system may be configured for updating geographical maps by assessing map data and operational data including vehicle telematics data to identify portions of a vehicle path that do not correspond to known travel paths. In various embodiments, the system is configured to define these identified portions as new known travel paths corresponding to a public road, private road, parking lot lane, or the like, and update the map data to reflect the new known travel paths.

  • Publication number: 20210324047
Abstract: COVID-19 results from the infection of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and has spread quickly to literally infected the world. Although coronavirus spike proteins can recognize a broad range of host cell-surface proteins, inhibiting spike protein binding to a survival factor called GRP78 results in a significant reduction in SARS-CoV-2 attachment, entry and replication in lung and kidney cells. This inhibition is accomplished with a novel type of inhibitor that potently blocks the binding of SARS-CoV-2 spike protein and whole virus to surface-bound GRP78. These novel GRP78 inhibitors also down regulate cytokines (IL10, IL6), immune co-inhibitory checkpoint proteins (PD-L1, B7H3, B7H4), and up regulate immune co-stimulatory proteins (MHC-II, CD-86) resulting in the reduction of the immune suppressive nature of infected lung alveolar epithelial cells in vitro and in vivo. Finally, these novel GRP78 inhibitors inhibit the hyperfibrinolysis of infected lung cells by reducing the activation of plasmin on cell surfaces.

  • Publication number: 20210278156
Abstract: Provided is a last round bolt hold-open mechanism for a firearm with a removable ammunition magazine and a longitudinally reciprocating bolt that automatically releases the bolt when a loaded ammunition magazine is inserted. The mechanism includes a frame mountable to a firearm receiver and having a pair of mounting flanges. A catch member is pivotally mounted on a pivot axle oriented transverse to the longitudinal reciprocation of the bolt and carried by the mounting flanges. The catch member has a rearward portion that moves between bolt blocking and bolt release positions and is spring biased toward the bolt blocking position. A forwardly extending finger is configured to be lifted by the presence of at least one ammunition cartridge in the magazine and, when lifted, causes the catch member to pivot to the bolt release position.

  • Publication number: 20210270704
Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to the use of automated platforms in the preparation of biomarker-stained cellular samples for microscopic analysis and use of such stained cells in the diagnosis of certain conditions. Disclosed herein is a method of affinity staining a Romanowsky-type stained sample on automated advanced staining systems, wherein the automated advanced stainer destains the sample prior to contact with a biomarker-specific reagent. Also disclosed herein are methods of processing body fluid samples for morphological and biomarker analysis by depositing cells of the sample in a thin layer onto one or more solid supports, staining at least one such solid support with a Romanowsky-type stain and staining at least one such solid support for one or more biomarkers useful for categorizing one or more cells of the sample.

  • Patent number: 10905750
Abstract: Glucose-regulated protein (GRP78) antagonists that block, interfere, and/or inhibit binding of receptor tyrosine kinase orphan receptors (RORs) are described for use as immunotherapy anticancer. These GRP78 antagonists inhibit surface bound GRP78 binding and receptor signaling and are believed to mimic the behavior of anti-angiogenic kringles found in mammalian plasminogen and in receptor tyrosine kinase orphan receptors. These GRP78 antagonist may be free peptide fragments, or peptide fragments covalently fused to blood borne proteins such as albumin or immunoglobins, or modified peptide fragments that a designed to bind to blood or tissue peptides when introduced in vivo into the blood stream of a patient.

  • Patent number: 10816289
Abstract: A multi-column box magazine for rimmed ammunition cartridges of varied lengths has an elongated housing with a neck portion where cartridges are arranged in a single column and a mouth at an upper feed end through which cartridges are inserted and extracted. In a multi-column portion, cartridges are arranged in laterally alternating columns, and in a transition portion the alternating columns are transitioned into the single column as the cartridges are moved toward the mouth within the housing. A follower is biased by a spring toward the mouth. The multi-column portion has a forward interior surface limiting forward movement position of cartridges, which varies depending on individual cartridge length, and the neck portion having a forwardly sloped rearward wall which confronts the cartridge rim and shifts the cartridge forward, as needed, as cartridges are moved upwardly within the housing to the mouth.
